Second shave with the AC, savage beast of a thing, a clutch of weepers but nothing major like the first one. Could get to like it I think!

The razor - it's a Durham Duplex company "T-Type" (or 201, if you want the model code):

Ah! I see it all now! Forgive me, Paul - I hadn't read the remembrance on your photo. And thanks for the education - I believe I'd seen your Type 'T' before but hadn't worked out it's location in the photo. Now - it's plain as day!

... and not at all a bad shave, neither.

When I was first lent one of these, I disregarded it for a while. When I tried it, I was amazed. Very smooth, very safe. That's what I wanted that night.

I have a couple of others coming by way of a swap - a "Dorset" and a "300". The Dorset has a heavy metal handle and the 300 has a long comb.

The DE versions of the Durham Duplexes are really good ... if you like that sort of thing. I do.

Kind of a rushed shave trying to teach my Dad as I go (converted him to SE from an electric razor). Still managed to get a near BBS with three passes.
Sent my Dad away with a 1912, NF 2 band, Proraso Green and some Thayers. I'll wait and see how he gets on...
