Result: Superb. I had been told what a good shave the Gem Baton gives and I was not disappointed. Terrific start to a week of Vintage SE shaves. Highly impressed too with the Treet carbon blade.

All the best, guys

Jon

SATURDAY MORNING

Pre: Tepid rinse & Prep cream
Soap: Wickham Sugar Rice hard soap
Brush: Frank Shaving purtech
Razor: Ikon Slant DLC
Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra
Post: Brut, Village Barber balm
EDT: Trumpers Eucris

An excellent shave. Darron's soap is a cracker and I am very pleased with the Slant.

I have and love the original, but it can be a faff lining the blade up. The new one doesn't seem to suffer as badly (I've read the blade retaining pins are bigger).

It still delivers the same corking shave though. Lovely if you have a tough beard, goes through it like a knife through butter.

Just had the best shave of my life, or at least since I started DE shaving again last November.

Billy Jealousy White Knight cleanser
Hot shower
Proraso soap
Linjun & 1980 Chinese Badger
Personna Lab Blue (4 or 5)
Gillette Rocket HD 500
Alum
Cien ASB
X-bolt

Banging!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch rebranded Simpsons best
Webly'/Sears Super+ Platinum (NOS)
Penhaligon Racquets SC (nice old vintage product)
Myrsol Emulsion
Yohji Yamamoto 'Yohji Homme' EdT

Fifth and last shave with this blade that I believe is from the 70s. Not a Gillette....maybe a Personna of some type. Might even be a Wilkinson, since the dispenser is made in the UK. Whatever the thing is, it's a nice blade. Got four 5 packs of these as a deal toss in and they were a good find.

I usta think this shaving cream was one of the best, but that damn Xpec has spoiled me. The Racquets is a little lacking in slip, but the scent is quite nice. Almost out of this stuff.....been nursing it along for about 3 years.

BBS results,

Martin

Superdrug FF is such a nice after shave for summer. The Lab blade gave me the first small weeper today in yonks, probably it's trying to tell me something..

EJ BBB
Palmolive (stick)
Andy Tauer's Lonestar Memories
(2nd favourite smellies of all time, just pipped to the post by HDP 1740)
Mr King's Marvelous Moustache Wax

Now enjoying a bowl of Peterson's De Luxe Mixture and watching the Open, before heading out for an 80th birthday party for my Gt Aunt where I will probably spend the entire night being introduced to very distant relatives.

It's a BIG family. My Dad was one of 9, my Grandad was one of 10 my Gt. Grandad was also one of 10 and my Gt Gt Grandad was one of 11. Whenever I bump into someone with the same surname as me, chances are we're related.
