Monday:

Day off, so eventually got myself to the sink for a lazy shave.

Fitjar Neroli cream
New Forest Tubby 2
Long Comb New/JEC handle
Gillette Silver Blue
Pinaud Clubman AS

Very nice, smooth and comfortable.

Sunday shave

Kent T4
Martin de Candre fougere
Le Grelot 6/8 quarter grind
Roger & Gallet L'Homme ASB - new formulation (there's definitely less menthol in this one!)
Amouage Homage Attar Pure Parfum

Wonderful shave for what was a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

Face wash with Pears soap
Cobra Classic / Dorco
Rudy Vey custom redwood burl with 23mm Shavemac knot
Supermax Shaving cream
Proraso Green A/S
Tom Ford Cafe Rose

A hit, a very palpable hit

Trumper almond soap
Vulfix Bodger
English Aluminium Ball End Tech, Polsilver Stainless
Mennen Green Tonic

2nd shave with this humble little razor. 1st use was at 04:15 on Saturday morning ahead of an early morning drive down to the Midlands. It seemed like a more sensible choice than something more aggressive at that time of day! Works excellently with this blade. Allows very comfortable buffing. BBS.

Sunday Evening

Hot Shower
SuperMax Ultimate Classic
Pure Badger 23mm
Bic Sensitive
Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

Bowl Lathered
Two Pass - With & Against the Grain

What a gorgeous day! Sunny, bright, not overly hot ... perfect car washing day.

Afterwards, a lovely shave with a bunch of low-brow equipment ...

You know what? That SuperMax cream is very nice - Aloe Vera, Tea Tree Oil & Vitamin E enriched, my skin feels good afterwards, the lather was easy to whip up and protective throughout.

You know what? That Bic Sensitive wasn't at all a bad shave. Still scratchy after a with the grain pass, I reckoned a cross the grain wasn't going to cut it, so being such a smooth razor in use, I went against the grain and finished up with a lovely smooth shave.

All good fun!

Thanks Paul, I hope I don't now become obsessed with photographing the equipment. I don't want to start spending on camera equipment too ...

That Bic actually looks pretty neat, I've been tempted lately to go back to the Gillette Blue II to see how much of a difference there is - although I would be a little concerned if I got just as good a shave. Must keep telling myself that I'm saving money!

Chris.

Monday

Afternoon, everybody.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Mach 3 disposable
Blade:
Brush:
Shave soap: Gillette Proglide Gel
Aftershave: Adidas Ice Dive
Cologne: Bronnley's Gentlemens EdT

Like Jon, I needed to shave quickly and got a perfectly decent result going ATG with this set-up. Getting pretty stubbly now, though.

Pre: Village Barber oil
Cream: Super-Max Ultimate "Classic" (Tea tree oil and Aloe Vera)
Brush: Orchid Isles 24mm Silvertip on Curly Koa handle
Razor: EJ DE89 with Templ8 custom handle
Blade: NOS Wilkinson Sword UK (9)
Post: Thayer's Lemon witch hazel
AS: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

Supermax cream gave tons of thick slick lather. NOS Wilkie blade is still going strong, now the longest lasting blade I've ever tried.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage amber Made Rite #74 badger
Schick F type injector/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
Xpec SC
Myrsol Emulsion used as aftershave
Jacomo de Jacomo EdT

Poifect shave.......this injector called to me. Very smart.

BBS results,

Martin

Sunday Shave, late post

Prep: Hot Shower and face scrub
Brush: Semogue badger
Soap: Proraso white
Blade: Astra SP
Razor: Gillitte New, long comb
Post shave: alum block
Balm: Bluebeard's revenge
Aftershave: Jean Paul G

Wow, thanks to those who gave me some advice on what to use in the New Long Comb, I liked the Astra in my slim adjustable, but in the New it's a weapon of mass destruction, not a follicle survived the first pass. I did lather up and go over again XTG, but more from habit then any need. Still smooth(ish) this morning as well, still shaved for work but that was akin to the XTG pass.

I'll try a sputter in it next time it hits the front off my rotation, see how that works out :D
