Progress @3.5
Astra SP (2)
VB Oil (for first 2 passes), Lush Prince Cream (last pass)
Barbershop Bay Rum

Was in a rush today, so went with the latherless options. The oil is great and does exactly what it says on the tin, but for the ATG pass I chucked on some Prince cream just to be safe. This also meant that I had a great scent of orange and bayrum lingering for a good while.

The Progress is an excellent razor to boot and I had zero "burn" when using alum (which I've started using after every shave regardless of irritation).

Aleppo soap - Rodney Neep Extra Silvertip 26X50 - Merkur 11C - Iridium Super #4 - Pre JASÖN - Shaving soap Calani Oriental Plum - Alum block - Thayers Cucumber Toner - ASB Weleda - ASL Weleda.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 rebranded Macys silvertip flopmeister
1958 Executive/Personna74 (NOS)
Xpec SC
Hai Karate 'Oriental Spice' AS
more Oriental Spice used as cologne

Probably the 11-12th shave with this blade and still good. Maybe not quite like earlier, but still very usuable. Might be time to change things up soon.

This old aftershave reminds me of a very nice Old Spice homage. Well done competition to that more famous brand.

BBS results,

Martin

Hot Shower
SuperMax Ultimate Classic
Pure Badger 23mm
Bic Sensitive
Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

Bowl Lathered
Two Pass - With & Against the Grain

What a gorgeous day! Sunny, bright, not overly hot ... perfect car washing day.

Afterwards, a lovely shave with a bunch of low-brow equipment ...

You know what? That SuperMax cream is very nice - Aloe Vera, Tea Tree Oil & Vitamin E enriched, my skin feels good afterwards, the lather was easy to whip up and protective throughout.

You know what? That Bic Sensitive wasn't at all a bad shave. Still scratchy after a with the grain pass, I reckoned a cross the grain wasn't going to cut it, so being such a smooth razor in use, I went against the grain and finished up with a lovely smooth shave.

All good fun!

37C
TSR brush
Gillette Thai superthin (2)
Monsavon
M+S Amber a/s and balm.

the monsavon has been quite tingly on the face the last 2 shaves but I've ended up with a good lather and shave so no complaints. Brush is quite floppy and still has a bit of a scent.

Bring on the working week!

SUNDAY EVENING

Pre: Hot Flannel then Prep massaged into beard
Brush: Semogue OC 2011 LE
Soap: MdC Fougere - bowl lathered
Razor: Ever Ready lather catcher
Blade: Vintage Gem
Post: Witch hazel then Proraso balm

My first shave with this odd little ER lather catcher which was supplied to me by a Yankee enabler.

Gawd, it's a goodun! It's very light which means you have to pull it through your stubble but it gives lots of very raspy feedback and gave me a really easy BBS (even on the notoriously tricky jawline).

I shall use this and the Streamline this week for a bit of variety.
