This morning:
Stahly head on bulldog style handle
Sputnik
Vulfix 404
Nanny's French lavender

Guerlain Habit Rouge edt

I thought the spud-nick blade would be good with this razor and I wasn't disappointed! Of course, a decent shaving soap helps too!

Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel
Razor - Gillette Fatboy
Blade - Polsilver Super Iridium (#4)
Brush - Omega 20106
Soap - Arko with Pine Needle & Mint EO's
After - Frozen towel / Alum
Result - BBS

Would say that the Polsilvers are a perfect match for the Fatboy. Really comfortable and effortless, especially against the grain.

That Darwin is a thing of beauty Cyril!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 rebranded Macys large silvertip flopmeiseter
Roller Guard head on long Weber handle/Schick Plus Platinum (NOS 1969)
RL Safari SS
Neutrogena oil-free moisture sensitive skin
no EdT for whatever the reason

Been a little while since last getting this Roller Guard thing wet and today it called to me. Loaded a fresh excellent old blade and went to shaving.

Man, this head always surprises me at how open comb like it feels on my face. Feels like an open comb but with zero of the bite. Like teeny non scratchy rakes going all around. Using this for the first time was a revelation.

The soap is so good even this floppy brush whips up a great lather in no time.

BBS results,

Martin

Razor: Feather Professional
Blade: Feather Professional Light
Brush: Vie long 2 band set in an Omega handle
Soap: TOBS Eton College
AS: Old Spice Noir
Finished off with couple of sprays of Johnsons Light Oil spray.

This was one of those shaves where everything went right. Took my time and enjoyed 3 passes and ended up with DFS. One of those shaves where you want to shave again as soon as you are done. (Or is that just me?)

Getting used to the Feather Pro Razor now, might move to a Feather Proguard blade next.

Aqueous cream (to wash face)
KoS oil
T&H No. 10 shaving cream
Executive Company super badger brush
Mekur 33c with BIC blade (2)
Aqueous cream (to moisturise)

DFS with only a couple of weepers - alum block quickly sorted that out. Also, probably 'cos I rushed it a bit (15 mins tops) did I manage to slightly irritate my neck (LHS) but it's always difficult to get that area really smooth. Perhaps I should just "shoot for par" in that area - and move on.

Tues 10 March 2015

Neutrogena Glyc - Pre shave wash
Vulfix 404 mixed
Tabac Stick- face lathered
Gem OCMM
Gem S/S [ 5 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Myrsol Antesol A/S

On blade use 5, the Open Comb with a bit of work delivered a good close shave. Think that blade performance is starting to drop, will push on to 7 [ weeks worth ], to see how it fares.

Greetings
