What! First time we've seen your Toggle in action and no description!

I don't understand :)
Your shiny new Toggle and you didn't tell use how the shave went with it.

I did in my post Toggle Arrived Today in the DE section :) towards the end I posted new pics and described how it went
Fair enough. Just read that thread again, glad you're enjoying it.

Looking forward to seeing more pics of it on SOTD

This coming picture is for you ->

Lovely snap, Martijn! Welcome aboard!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch rebranded Simpsons best
'Webly'/ Gillette Silver Blue (NOS thanks Paul)
Xpec SC
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Dior 'Eau Sauvage' Pour Homme EdT (vintage juice)

First time trying this vintage blade, thoughtfully sent to me by Tall Paul. Man, this thing is really good. From the first stroke I thought the blade would be a keeper and it sure is. One I could easily use every day.

Heh, the Xpec did it's usual wonderfulness and provided perfect lather with a great scent. Saw some unscented tubs a US vendor was selling for only $89 shipped! Does that seem a trifle expensive? I would say yes.

BBS results,

Martin

I saw that too does seem expensive considering it's not scented. They said that xpec may make a reformulated version?

Cold water splash
Czech & Speake O&C soap
Vulfix Grosvenor reknotted with TGN 2-band badger
Weber PH Bulldog
Perma-Sharp Super (3)
Clinique Post-Shave Healer, Clinique M-Lotion

2 days growth gone in a flash (well, in 1/2 hour anyway) :)

What proportion of the cost of a shaving cream do you suppose the 'perfum' part is? There is a lot of difference between 'not scented' and 'unscented'. How do you get rid of the smell of soap to make it 'unscented'? - an expensive process would be my guess, like bleached paper, de-caff coffee.

They've been saying there's top be a reformulated version of Xpec so long that world stocks of any Xpec have all but disappeared - unless you look in cupboards belonging to dodgy and myself.

It is utterly gorgeous stuff! I'm beginning to favour the Unscented and feel disloyal for doing so!

Friday

Morning, everyone.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Sodial/Rimei
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (7)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: Erasmic Supreme
Aftershave: Ricardo L'Homme Musk
Cologne: Halston I-12

What a top week of shaves: the Silver Blue is an excellent blade and it pairs well with the Rimei. Think I'll try the SB with another cheap 'n' cheerful razor tomorrow.
