S.O.T.D. Saturday 24th January to Friday 30th January 2015

Tabac-Tuesday!
Soap: Tabac
Brush: Rubberset-400 replica with 26mm TGN Finest 2-band
Razor: Schick dial adjustable (M15)
Blade: Personna 74 (4)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel, followed by USB & Tabac ASL.
Face-lathered the Tabac, top performer as usual. P-74 blade is holding strong. Not as smooth as the vintage Schick, but sharp.

TUESDAY EVENING

Razor: Kropp 5/8
Strop: Westholme Cordovan
Brush: Semogue OC 2-band
Croap: Wickham Seaspray
AS: Lilac Veg
Balm: Zirh soothe

Had today off work ill so spent a bit of time honing this.

It is almost there. Not quite, but almost. It didn't quite pass the hanging hair test but I thought 'sod it' and had a shave anyway.

Not a bad result, though I had to tidy up with Schick. I struggle to shave my moustache line with a straight unless it is really sharp.

Anyway, I'll take it back to the 12K Naniwa and see if I can get it to pass the HHT next time.

Those blades are real sharp, but not the forgiving type even when dialed down a bit. Personally I like some old, almost as sharp Gillette Platinum Plus (from the late 60s early 70s) blades more. Sharp is fine as long as the comfort is there along with no strong need in paying attention too much.
