Thursday

RazoRock XXX
Semogue SOC Boar
Aristocrat Junior
Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
DR Harris Windsor AS
James Bronnley EdT

Great shave from some excellent gear. BBS in three passes. The Windsor AS has nearly run out, this is definitely one I'll be replacing, what a scent!!

Prep: good scrub with dove soap and hot water.
Razor: Edwin Jagger 89
Blade: ASDA's personna whatever.
Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair
Cream: TOBS lemon & lime
Post: Alum, M&S woodspice and a touch of nivea sensitive as balm.

This is the first time I have not used a hot towel pre shave but despite a nice smoother than usual shave I had no sting.

The M&S woodspice is becoming my favourite AS.. I am still not keen on the tobs but will keep using until i find a soap/cream that complements the woodspice.

Jim

Proraso Sensitive soap

Another great shave with the 1912 .

Hand-carved Ash 27mm Boar
Kent Soap
Barbershop Bay Rum
Unrefined Shea Butter

Dax Wax through the 'tache

Magic - summer is here! Never mind Wibbledon and the World Gup, there's Cricket on the radio today.....:D

Prep Proraso Pre Shave
Razor Ever Ready 1912 with Gem Blade
Soap Nanny's Down Home Summer
Brush Rod Neep Cocobolo Silvertip
Aftershave Myrsol Agua Balsamica

Very different but enjoyable shave today. First try with a SE razor and you certainly have to concentrate much more on the blade angle. Overall though a great shave and the 1912 is a great addition to my rotation.

A long time since posting on these threads. Just following a similar rotation of vintage Gillette Tech plus red personna, a popular cheap cream or soap (Ingam today) aftershave like Steve's Bay Rum or Superdrug something or other. And a local brand shaving brush. Long past sampling all the delights inspired by members here. So I suppose I am saving money at last compared with the old cartridge days and expensive aftershaves etc. But what fun it's been getting to this stage. Most of all, it's been improved preparation and technique that has produced better shaves.
