Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Cella
Brush: Simpson Tulip-1 (Super)
Razor: ATT R2 OC plate with Templ8 custom handle
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Post: Thayer's Lemon witch hazel
AS: Captain's Choice "Cat o'nine tails", followed by Village Barber balm

Tried the ATT R2 plate again. I really want to like this razor but for me it's really hard work getting an irritation-free BBS. The R2 plate is right at the very limit of my facial endurance and approach angle is critical. It's milder than the R1 plate.
I'm thinking that I would be better off with the M2 plate.

That's good to hear. Although I can't truly know what you're talking about, I know what you mean about how one blade shaving differently from another.

Of course, your 'practicing' with the Feather helped pave the way by smoothing things out. Yeah, you removed many small 'high spots' on your face in the beginning. Sorta reminded me of a poor, but determined whittler.

Anyway, I think the shaving part will be the easier thing to learn. It's all the other stuff that might take a while to figure out.

Mart, I know how much you Yanks love your plastic surgery and body reshaping.

Well, this is how we do it in Blighty. It's what we refer to as 'chiselled cheekbones'.

Result: I love this razor, but never seem to get the closest of shaves from it, despite the keeness of the edge. Never mind it is a lovely Saturday evening, take your time piece of kit. MdC was a dream, as ever, but not so sure about Lucky Tiger After Shave Cream. It maybe that I am applying it wrong, but it dried to a powdery residue on my face which I then had to wash off. All in all though, a very nice scrape.

Just off for a glass or two of Pinot Noir and watch the France v England match, the result of which I do not know.

Have a pleasant evening, gents.
