fantastic shave. revisited my slant tonight after been totally underwhelmed by it previously, and it has blown me away. its given me a smooth, irritation free shave. hooray for slants!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row badger
Schick F type injector/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
Klar Kabinett SS
Neutrogena oil free moisture
Malizia 'Vetyver' EdT

My only rose scented item in the rotation. Very good performance and extremely good price for what you get. Really glad I picked up some before it became extinct.

This goofy F type continues to amuse me.....definitely my favorite injector. Pairs up nicely with this sharp old blade.

BBS results,

Martin

Gillette Aristocrat #21
Gillette Super Thin (2)
Semogue SOC 2-band
Martin de Candre scented
Proraso Aftershave lotion
Serge Lutens Daim Blonde

Good. I need a smoother blade in this fairly aggressive razor, but there we go.

What a good shave!

I had a first run with my birth year Gillette Slim Twist and it played out really well.

Hot Towels.
Nuage Men PSO
Ingram's Shaving Cream
Pure Badger Brush
Gillette Slim Tiwst
Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum [2]
Witch Hazel/Olbas Oil Tonic
Bulldog Sensitive Moisturiser
Old Spice

Second run with the Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum and I am starting to get the idea that I much prefer a blade after its maiden voyage. My birth year Gillette Slim Twist was a lovely razor to use - I like long handles and this razor has a nice blade gap and reveal for me. I like it!

In all, a good shave. Not quite baby smooth, but it's close.

I left my 'tache ... just in case I need a head start for Movember. I fancy waxed ends, like a wide Poirot.

Cheers, all. Have a great weekend ...

Prep: FitjarSoap Pre Shave Soap
Razor: Merkur HD
Blade: Sputnik (3)
Brush: Lijun Shaving Finest Badger
Soap: Mike's Natural Soap – Pine and Cedarwood
Aftershave: Captains Choice Lime
Moisturiser: Fitjarsoap Shea Butter Moisturiser.

As always, very fine lather from Mike's soaps. But as always, a bit more work needed to get there. Maybe it would be easier with another brush?
I can never decide what I think about this brush, a 24 mm finest badger from Lijun Shaving.
It isvery soft on the tips, but also a very hard brush, due to too much glue used on the base
But it did manage to whip up an obscene amount of lather, so I guess it works as intended

Third shave with the Sputnik blade, and it still performed amicably.
This is a blade that will have a permanent place in my rotation, so it is time to visit my favourite bay once more

... and a reminder that I should play with my Fitjar Shea Soap again. Maybe I should just drop some Olbas Oil into it to make it more appealing to me ... I love the menthol.

And that was a reminder for me to do the same. I take it you have the Folgefonn soap?
How does it work for you?
