Greetings

Saturday 14th September 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Schick Adjustable
Blade: Schick Super Stainless Platinum NOS
Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed
Soap: Scent From Heaven XS
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)

An interesting shave, I was given this soap by a kind fellow member here who did say there was something in it that did not agree with his skin.

On the second pass my face felt on fire as if I had been stung by nettles. I stopped straight away and after several cold water rinses the sensation completely went away. I was able to complete the last pass using Lea Cream. I have no after effects at all. Interesting how two of us have had the same reaction, the only soap in the past that has had a similar (but lesser) effect is a Boots Shave stick.

After all of that still a perfect finish! These NOS blades that came with this razor are very good indeed.

Regards
Dick.

Face wash with Pears oil-control soap
Dubl Duck special No.1
Morris & Forndran stubby 2XL
Martin de Candre Fougère
Proraso Green A/S
Aqua De Parma Essenza

Great start to the weekend.

The AdP puts me in mind of another scent but I'll be damned if I can remember which. Lovely hit of vetiver in the mix and if its got lasting power this sample may well be joined by a full bottle.

Gillette Aristocrat #15
Feather (1)
Semogue SOC 2-band
Martin de Candre scented
Proraso Aftershave lotion
Serge Lutens Chergui

A very good shave. This #15 is the most aggressive razor I own - which isn't necessarily saying much - so 'zero pressure, zero pressure, zero pressure' was on my mind throughout. Especially as it was coupled with a Feather.

Hot shower
Somerset sensitive shave oil
Musgo real spiced citrus
Omega 6.5 in brush
EJ DE89
Trumper skin food sandlewood on 3rd pass
Cold water
Thayers lavender witch hazel
Aramis aftershave

Bloody marvellous !

Simpsons Chubby 2, Best Badger

Neil Miller-2.5" Latigo Leather, strop

have a great weekend!

Prep: Hot shower, followed by Village Barber oil
Soap: Homemade tallow soap (unknown brand)
Brush: E&J Chatsworth Best Badger
Razor: E&J DE89 Chatsworth
Blade: Astra Superior Stainless (1)
Post: Village Barber Balm

Shave was OK but a little rough since I couldn't get a decent lather (frothy proto-lather) from the soap (first attempt).

Warm shower
Hot flannel
TOBS Rose cream bowl lathered
Simpson Tulip 1 super badger brush
Gillette slim twist
Rapira chrome (2)
Cold rinse
Thayers lavender witch hazel
Myrsol F/extra aftershave

Decent shave, cool face now from the F/extra's menthol.

Saturdayday:

Afternoon, everyone.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Nanjie
Blade: Dorco (1)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: MWF
A/S: Dévotion

A bit tuggy and but a clean and smooth shave was the result.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
'Webly'/Wilkinson Light Brigade (NOS)
Kent SS (heh, a perfect gift from last year's Secret Santa)
RL 'Safari' EdT (old juice)

Another perfect shave with that razor/blade soap trio. Still amazes me how well that goofy Stahly head fits my shaving schtick. Needs that long heavy Weber handle to complete the transformation and bingo!

BBS results,

Martin
