Found my very last Personna Red nestling in my stash. I remember it fondly... but even after palm-stropping it just wasn't up to the performance of my current favourite blades.
I'll stick to Lab Blues for my Personna fix from now... and the hapless Red has been ditched

I too am trying Personna Lab/blue/super and think it's the best of the bunch.

Today's shave:

Hot face splash
Weber polished with bulldog handle
Personna lbs (1)
Arko soap stick F.L.
24mm finest TGN badger
Alum

Good BBS with a couple of weepers but almost no sting from alum.

Hot shower
Hot flannel
TOBS Lavender cream scuttle lathered
Simpson Tulip 1 super badger brush
Gillette Hybrid tech
Gillette super thin (3)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Speick aftershave

A comfortable, close shave. The TOBS cream is really easy to use whips up a great lather with very little effort. A sort of luxury after a period using hard soaps. I'm impressed with the super thin blade which works well in the Tech.

Razor: Dubl Duck Wonderedge 6/8+
Bush: Neep Custom
Cream: GFT Spanish Leather
AS: Dr.Harris Sandalwood

No Pic today. It's not fun to take pics when its dark out and quality is poor. So i made a clip. :)
The Shave was so nice and relaxing after a stressful day of shopping xmas gifts and whatnot.

Bodyshop maccaroot cream
Whipped Dog firestone silvertip
Gem Bullet closed comb
Gem SE blade
Alum
Bodyshop maccaroot ASB

Very pleased with the WD brush, nice and soft but with enough hold for face lather. Definitely one of my best shaves with the Gem, much better than my 1912 or Injectors.

Thursday's Theatrics

English Red Tip Superspeed, Sputnik
Hand-carved Ash Barbershop style 27mm Boar
Peppermint & Emu Oil Shaving Soap
Witch Hazel
Arran Aromatics Bay Citrus Post Shave Balm
Arran Aromatics Bay Citrus EdT

Pretty good result with the Red Tip so ain't going to sell it after all. Soap is simply marvellous - copious, slick & protective lather. Loving the Bay Citrus scent. Back to the Barbershop Bay Rum tomorrow as the monkey is a-chattering in my ear 'ole for some!

THURSDAY EVENING

Prep: Hot rinse
Razor: Muhle R89 Jet
Blade: Voskhod
Brush: Coates Fitzwilliam
Cream: Fitjar Shea Pleasure - scuttle lathered
Post: Witch hazel, Institut Karite balm

School breaks up at lunchtime tomorrow, then it's off to the local for a couple of jars. Cracking shave in readiness!

Friday

Mitchell's Wool Fat
Semogue 2012 SE
iKon Slant/JEC handle
Voskhod
Pinaud Clubman AS
Fitjar Mint ASB

Great shave to clear a coulpe of days growth. I do like the slant, I just wish you didn't have to fiddle around to get the blade aligned properly, it's not a fun shave if the blade isn't right.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso preshave - sensitive
Soap: Tabac
Brush: MÜHLE Kosmo silvertip synthetic
Razor: Weber + Bulldog
Blade: Treet Platinum (2)
After: Muelhens 4711 AS, Tabac ASB

After just 2 shaves with the Treet blade it feels a bit scratchy and some irritation on my neck afterwards so a new blade tomorrow and I think a different razor for a while.

I think I'm done with my blade comparisons with the Weber, result are in:
1) Sputnik & Rapira SS - a draw, I can't decide which is better.
2) Personna Super Blue - Almost on par with the above but not as smooth.
3) Astra SP - Very smooth but not as close as the above.
4) Gillette 7 o'clock yellow - slightly too rough/aggressive
5) Treet Platinum - Not as close a shave and short life.

Happy Friday, folks.
