Most emotive track

Howdeeeeeeeee! (said in my best Minnie Pearl voice)

I might as well admit it.........I like hillbilly music. Heh, I guess now it's referred to as 'Country Western' but not the case back around 50 years ago here in Chicago. Matter of fact, lots of number one hits were hillbilly songs. Seriously.

Many of em are sad, which is what attracts me to those. Yeah, melancholy is right up my alley...so's bittersweet. I guess that's because I'm a sensitive guy. Hmmm, maybe that isn't the reason.

I won't include one of those songs in this post...maybe another time. Instead I'll offer up something you may be familiar with in some way. It may be you just haven't seen it in this form before.

The singer ended up badly at a young age. If you aren't familiar with Phil Ochs he might be worth a look. He was a very talented man with just a few too many demons.

I hope some of you enjoy this,

Martin

Like it Dodgy....ah, the days when singers could enunciate. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed that, although it's not such good dance music.....heh. I had to learn that famous poem when I was a kid and I liked it then. Hearing it put to music is a kick for me, especially since I enjoy Phil Ochs a good bit.

If I may, I'll include one more song of his. Most songs he writes aren't sad ones, and he has a great sense of humor in lots of em. This one though...... it's maybe sorta melancholy.
