Most emotive track

For me, no audio track come has closer to the wholesale reduction to tears than the legendary Mr Cash: Hurt.

Yes it's a cover and the NIN original is superb, but Cash adds a certain character that makes me find pause. What's the one track that makes you well up?

I'm with you Neo.

Music is all about the memories it holds at the time you heard it - for this reason I'd pick Children by Robert Miles (ironically just linked to on the other music thread!). On Radio 1 back in the day Simon Mayo used to play three tracks at 11.30 called the eleven thirty three (I'm sure someone will remember it....) and this was one of the tracks played the day after the Dunblane shootings. I can't remember the other two at all...

Some sad ones
Iris dement's "our town"
Johnny Cash "Hurt" (I like Johnny Cash only saw him play live once )
John Prine "Hello in there" "Sam Stone" (I like John Prine, great story teller )

Some kick ass ones
"Going underground" The jam
"Stay free" the clash

Uplifting
"Such great heights" the postal service
"Mr.November" the national
"All the one now"/"to win just once" the saw doctors (Brilliant song writers )

Love songs
"afterglow" small faces
"waterloo sunset" The kinks
...........

Depeche Mode can bring the goosebumps to my skin when I hear their songs.

I'll go with Roy Orbison's Crying and Johnny Cash's Hurt.

But on a purely personal level it has to be Last Trip Home by Battlefield Band which I chose to be played at Dad's funeral as his four grandsons brought in the coffin -small clip here (Dad had been a horselad/ploughman/waggoner).
