It's m5 coarse which is the 0.8 pitch.
The standard thread on vintage razors is actually 2ba which is extremely close to m5 x 0.8

Thanks for posting this info, it explains a lot.

My pleasure.

This is the last batch from the old workshop.

I'm back, and ready to take more orders !
Sorry for my disappearance, but the new workshop was essential, and took a little longer and a bit more money than I'd hoped.
Anyway back to business.

Excellent! From my rather crude measurements, an M5 thread does the trick although I'm sure you can measure exactly. I've had some fun with a grub screw driven down your version of the Gillette ball end, used with a 1912. The weight seems good.

I think 1912 and 1924 have the same thread, although there are some early 1912s (non-Damaskeene) which have a smaller thread, so presume the Damaskeene is like that also. Then the 1914 seems to have yet another thread. The regular 1912/1924 thread fits most Valets, too, although the top has to be long and thin the fit into the back lever.

Hope to see some ideas soon ...

I was sent a PM yesterday regarding how cluttered and difficult to navigate this thread has become, so I've started a new thread Here

I'll keep watching this thread just in case but it'd be great if everyone could use the new handle thread to help keep things tidy.

Thanks,
Iain
