Spot on John - The Maplins one has no of the bells and whistles of the Lidl one, but it cleans just as well, and seems to have a longer life span (touch wood)

How did people get on with these cleaners?
Is this the maplin one? http://www.maplin.co.uk/compact-ultrasonic-cleaner-2000-353828
Has anyone had a one of ebay that they would recommend?
Cheers
Craig

Link was buggered because of the full stop (fixed it above)
You're probably better of with a stainless steel one, and off ebay it'll only cost you a tenner more for the small one. (including postage to the UK)
Second thing is you need to fill it, 2.5 litre is one hell of a tank, and will use a lot more liquid. (and cleaning agents), for 1 razor it's a bit of a waste in my opinion.
A heated tank is only useful if you do a lot of cleaning in a row to keep the water hot.
(otherwise just use hot tap water)

This is the one I got, 75 quid, works like a charm.
You can get it on UK ebay for a bit more (same seller)

I did make a liner for the basket out of plastic (since the tray is metal), as not to damage the razors with vibrating metal on metal.

An unltrasonic cleaner (USC) will not do "all" the work, quite a bit of manual work is still required. It's not just a question of putting it in completely scummy, and it coming out like new.SIRUSKEY said:Does it get the really old crud off??
