I do like to drag this thread back to life every so often with something interesting or rare. So here's the latest super uber rare piece to make it in to the collection.

A VEB Brillant De Luxe made in the former East Germany most likely in the late 1960's early 1970's, a later version also exists with a plastic handle rather than the aluminium of this one, adjustable from 0 to 3. Not exactly top craftsmanship but ridiculously rare, I know of less than 10 in the world that have made it into the hands of collectors

perfect cleanup and i'm always happy to see that rare razors are safe in a new perfect home =)

Thanks Michael, it's amazing what's possible with a 2lb rubber mallet a few bits of wood and some polish.

Jamie, I am amazed where you gather all this information from. That is a stunning razor and must have cost a fortune to get.

Far too many hours scouring the globe, a plus point is my German, French and Spanish are all improving :icon_wink: and lets just say the devil owns my soul.

Though id post this in here now i had a few pic's of it i have only ever seen pic's of one another and for all i know it could be the same one....

It's a production error slim the super adjustable was released in 1968 and it was also the last year of the slim and it seems the one i got had the longer super adjustable plate fitted instead of a smaller one..

Ah yes, the difference is obvious now you have pointed it out. :)

Ginge ... one of the more polite things I was called at school.
Nice looking razors. I have been tempted by the WS Bonded cartridges (the first?) On eBay but it's a bit pricey and I would spoil its NOS status by using it.
