Calling all you razor collectors

Doesn't Steve make us all feel better?

What's doin Peter,

Yeah, you're right about Steve. Heh, every shaving forum needs a few members like Steve for a couple reasons or more. Obviously, the first reason's the 'porno' factor. Yeah, there ain't a lot of magazines that specialize in razors layed out in provocative poses.

Then you got the "Honey, look at this guys stuff! See dear? I'm really very normal compared to him (poor bastard)". Heh, that also works for single guys as well.

Cripes, I hadda look at his collection in small doses and not all at once. Yeah, seeing that much shaving crap at one time would probably gimme the spins.

Nice typing at you,

Martin

Oh yeah....that's a great looking bike you got.

Cheers guys

i am very pleased with my collection, it has taken three years to get this far.......
i enjoy the hunt and the rewards it brings...........it's kinda goofy as a hobby and i do get some odd looks at work as everytime people walk past i am looking at Razors on ebay :s:s (well i need some way to pass a 12hr night shift)

there are still many more i want to get.......just a waiting game, it has caused a bit of friction between my girlfriend in the past but now she sees it's a real collection and i'm trying to display it in a nice way she does actually approve, (paying for her to have some nice goodies every once in a while helps too.......:blush:

anyway, this is done for all you boys, so when your wives and girlfriends say "another razor !!!!!!!!!!!" just point them to this thread and say "yeah but look at that sad w****r !!"

Steve: does the one on our left have a red ban around it or is it part of the case?

Never seen a gold Superspeed - is that what it's called?

Steve, I see you bagged a bottom dial.

I'm interested in the stands you have. The round metal ones with the merkur and a few others.

I'm down to my Chatsworth, 38C, and Gillette Slim Twist plus these two more interesting oldies. A 1918 Single Ring and a Shavex - the latter is in regular use, close shave but relatively mild. Don't see many around. Must have been as cheap as chips.

Fido, I have a razor with the exact same handle as the front razor, but with a plastic & metal head.

The collection's great, and I thought that this suggestion was worth its weight in gold! However, I have just shown your collection to my wife and instead of being reassured that my eBay list was reasonable she's inclined to see it as the start of something dangerous and wants to nip it in the bud.

That said, she's bought into the pacifying thought that there can't be many razors left to buy!

The other one is a British made blue tip razor, thing is this one has a plastic coating on the handle and the head and collar look Rhodium plated ? or very highly polished Nickel, it has a “BRIT PAT” inside the head of the Razor and the Gillette Logo and diamond “<>” underneath the head but not the “MADE IN ENGLAND” Stamp, the End Caps are the flat end USA type ones though, it is very very well made, very smooth mechanism and no wear at all, the guy that sold me these razors at a Flea Market got them from a House Clearance in Brentford, there was this in a shoebox with 4 slim twists, 2 Regular Rockets and boxes and boxes of unopened foil sealed gillette blades, that got me thinking that it may be some kind of test razor or prototype as you know Gillette were located in Isleworth/Brentford Years ago...
