See also this recent thread: http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/forum/thread-17909.html I found an advert on ebay which included the chubby shaving soap and it was dated 1951 which confirms as best as possible the age of that one
 
Courtesy of a very nice member here, I am now waiting on a birth year Gillette slim adjustable (year code I3 - July 1963)

My trousers quiver with excitement!
 
A few bits for me today

First up is a Gold Merkur Futur which I got from daz

Along with the future daz very kindly included a handle. As you can see it is a short stumpy handle, feels quite nice to hold, looking forward to shaving with it tomorrow.

And as I like decent handles on my Gillette New heads I also got this Weber handle from Al H

And finally a Mora Bushcraft knife to enable me to whittle my own shaving brush handle :)

I much prefer old fashioned or traditional stuff so why do I keep ogling that shiny gold Futur, Steve? My coupon is probably big enough for one of those to drive around on.

I also prefer vintage or British made shaving stuff but your post made my look at the Futur, and its gorgeous especially in the Satin Chrome (?) IMHO.
Perhaps I might need a modern adjustable after all!

I also bought a tube of Supermax Shaving Cream from Savers (79p).
 
The Gold Futur is indeed a wonderful looking razor, you do also need a very big coupon for it! I loved the shave it gave but I just couldn't get it under the top lip without missing spots all the time. It just wasn't getting used so it was time to pass it on to someone who would use it and save it gathering dust. I shall probably regret selling it this time next year but hey ho thats how it goes.

Couple of things i got on earlier in week but after a short stint in what seemed like the set of one flew over the cuckoo's nest for a few days have only just got round to opening up the post...
Cased flair tip rocket,CJB from korea and a made for gimbels 46 berkeley in need of some TLC ...
