Pre Shave: Hot Shower, L'Oreal Pure Power Face Wash and Proraso Green
Razor: Gillette Single Ring 1920
Blade: Wilkinson Sword England (#2)
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Cream: Proraso Green
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphrey's Witch Hazel
AS: L'Oreal Pure Tonic

Another fantastic shave today, the NOS Wilkinson Sword blade working great in this old razor. I have not used the Proraso green cream and pre shave for a while, the pre-shave has wonderful hit of menthol and the cream make a great lather.

Decided to give these Edwin jagger samples a go today it was a great shave my face feels smooth ,I'm not really a fan of pre shave creams/oils iv only got one (proraso white) and only use that when I use the proraso soap this Edwin jagger one was like rubbing vicks on your face made my eyes water , the cooling menthol shaving cream is real good stuff lathered up with ease with the semogue brush and felt good on my face , the perma sharp blades are one of my favorite blades to use in the EJ razors I really like them - Happy Shaving Again :D

View attachment 25746 Evening all.
Been away since last Wednesday so have not posted any sotd.
Just finished a very wet days work and decided an overdue shave was in order.
First up the qshave, it seems a bit unbalanced to me, the head definitely quite large, handle a bit short for me but I have shovels for hands.
Set it on 3 with a Sputnik loaded.
First pass effective and mild, second against ok, third across it started getting stingy on the throat.
Not the closest, several places not slick, but overall happy enough for a first use.
Also first use of the Albion soap, easy to load the boar brush, smells very nice indeed, slick, but wouldn't say cushioning, but probably my poor technique at obtaining a lather.
Executive shave oil,
Qshave clone,
Sputnik blade #1,
P+b Albion soap,
Grosvenor boar brush,
Superdrug as balm,
Parfums de Marley Herod.
Bear in mind that the P&B Soaps are exceptionally thirsty! As in, I wet my brush to build the lather rather than the usual 'dribble a couple drops' on it. :)

PAA Prismatic razor
Super Gillette Blue
Chinese blade (#2)
RazoRock 400 black synthetic brush
OSP Orange & Patchouli soap
Daniel Hechter Caractere AS

Although no known fetish for patchouli, something about this soap just "sends" me. Love the smell.

@Bogeyman - Absolutely on the soap. What you said. I normally describe the scent as 'intoxicating' for me. By a country mile the best scented soap I have on the go at the moment. I'd recommend the matching splash and then Hermes D'Orange Verte edt - which has quite a lot of patchouli in the base. They dovetail perfectly in my experience. Cheers - I

Monday

Preshave 3P cream
Vitos Green Soap
Semogue 1250 Brush
Gem Junior with Gem PTFE blade (#5)
Alum Block
Unrefined shea butter
Turkish Lemon Cologne

Another excellent shave....although just a trace of tugging...so I have retired the blade after 5 shaves.
Still not bad....most DE blades I have.... are binned after 2 or 3 shaves. Razor has been cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and
coated in Ballistol for storage. I will have to pick a new setup for tomorrow.

Pre: Proraso White
Brush: Omega 40033
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Wilkinson Sword (2)
Soap: Extro Arzachena Shaving Cream
Post: Thayers Rose, Aloe Vera Gel & Extro Arzachena Aftershave/EDT
Entetainment: Paradise by Dante Alighieri (Canto XVIII - XXII)

A bit different this week, for the rest of June I will be sticking with the same soap Mon-Fri and maybe the same equiptment.

I don't know about Proraso White, its for sensitive skin but I find it harsher than the Green. I have no issues with menthol but both the soap and pre shave give me odd sensations. Last time I used the pre shave it left me a little red and today was no different.

Pre shave aside a great shave was had. I enjoy these Extro products and the scents are very nice and pleasant. No issues with lather and slickness. I would like to try more of their products in the future. Powering through The Divine Comedy audio book, makes a nice complement whilst shaving. Inferno was easy to read but struggled in Purgatory and Paradise is much more pleasant!

@nolisco - Dante - nice - that's an erudite shave. If you like that sort of thing then Boccaccio's 'Decameron' might be of interest to you. Contemporaneous I think to the 'Divine Comedy.' A different sort of book but equally regarded as a foundation stone of modern western European literature. Just as difficult in places as Dante. If you want properly difficult I'd recommend Chaucer - in it's original middle-english. Cheers - I

Brush: - Semogue Special Edition 2012 Badger/Boar knot 24/55mm
Cream/Soap: - Wholly Kaw - Man from Mayfair (tallow) 4x
Razor: - Colonial Razors "The General Alum. Head" with iKon Bulldog Handle
Blade: - Schick Proline #1
Post: - Thayers Witch Hazel 'Rose Petal' / Bulldog Original Aftershave Balm
Fragrance: - Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male EDT

WOW!! The Schick Proline single edge blade shave super smooth like pure butter is a perfect combination with the General and this blade is a real huge A+ for me and my skin type, I'm looking forward to see how far the Schick Proline single edge blade reach to a tatol maximum number of shaves before changing a fresh new blade. You can't buy them directly from eBay or Amazon online because these blades come directly and only from Japan the cheapest price on the market online is from 'Rakuten Global Market', I've ordered mine months ago from a different supplier which has cost me a little more so the 'Rakuten Global Market' is the cheapest directly from Japan.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1958 Executive/Wilkinson LB (NOS)
BSB flat black 400 homage/ synthetic knot
older Coates rose cream
Neutrogena oil free moisture
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT black bottle

Pretty fun using this new to me kinda knot. Soft from the get go and enough loft for lathering on my face. The long handle keeps the suds from getting things slippery, although it's got a nice coating for very good grip. Tried it three times so far with both soaps and creams and it's gonna find a spot in the rotation I believe.

Probably my 5th shave using this razor/blade combo and jeeez, it's still about perfect. Just a great old blade dialed in juuust right and we have a bingo!

BBS results,

Martin
