Mongoose/Hempel/Kai
Wolf Whiskers
Beaver Woodright Black Beard
Pitralon Swiss
Excellent, easy and smooth shave today. The titanium handle on the Mongoose really gives it a different feel, much more manageable and nimble. Nice. The Black Beard was very creamy and slick with a great lime/bay rum scent. Isn't the Wolf Whiskers pretty?

Classic combo for me this afternoon:

Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Standard Razor
SV Manna di Sicilia
Virginiasheng Purtech
Bay rum splash

I re-found the right angle for this and got another "Sensor Excel" type shave. Smashing.

Classy looking set-up.
Thanks. I've gone a bit, no strike that, very overboard acquiring razors, brushes and soaps (plus after shave products). At some point I will thin the herd but for the time being it's a pleasure to be treated to excellent shaves with excellent products every day.

SOTD - Sat
Pre: Hot towels & Village Barber oil
Cream: Coate's Sandalwood
Brush: Brad Sears "Sentinel" w/ 26mm silvertip bulb
Razor 1: Pre-1890 Frederick Reynolds Sheffield wedge razor with blond horn scales
Razor 2: Mongoose Satin w/Jürgen Hempel Ti-thin-wave handle
Blade: Kai Mild (1)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel followed by Penhaligon's Opus 1870 ASB/EdT
Lazy Saturday afternoon of zero shopping. WTG pass with big Fred, ATG with the 'Goose for an easy DFS. Haven't used the Coate's cream in about a year, it's great stuff!

Prep: Scrub with Dove soap and body brush, then l'Oreal face scrub containing charcoal and menthol
Pre: Cold rinse and glycerine
Lube: Clinique Aloe Gel (from a squirty can)
Razor: Progress 500 @ no. 2
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SP [3]
Post: Cold rinse, towel dry.
A/S: Floid Blue
Balm: Glycerine.

I wanted to try out the Clinique gel. It has a pleasant though mild mossy kind of scent. Feels concentrated for a gel, so a little goes a long way. Good lubricating properties resulting in a decent finish from two passes (with/across). Conclusion: best thing to have come out of a can since Heinz mulligatawny.

Greetings

Gem S/S [ 2 ] & 1/2 Spine Shim
Alum Rub /La Toja A/S

Whilst the 1924 is rated as aggressive , for me the addition of a shim and longer handle make it a Super Shaver. The extra weight of the handle allows it to glide around the face , even working ATG on the neck is easy. The resultant shave was very close and irritation free. IMHO the S/S handle makes it more efficient ,and does not look too bad either.
