I find that shaving is basically boring so making it an artform rather than a chore and constantly buying new stuff is what it takes to keep me groomed
Hopefully i will stop buying new stuff, but i agree that the main problem is boredom. However, for me, the easiest way against that, is rotate many blades (i think i am at 14 now). I have found that when you shave constantly with the same blade, you adapt to it. You shave well, but you will have more trouble switching to a different blade. Keeping many blades in rotation, keeps things interesting and keeps you in your toes. Today, i nicked myself with Derby Premium at shave #2. Last time was about 5 months ago. I underestimated it, because shave #1 was uneventful, so in shave #2 i started putting more pressure. That's the most boredom-killing part that i 've found in shaving. Because, shaving with your favourite blade every day, isn't much of a challenge and you become complacent. Shaving with 14 blades, keeps you trainning and keeps boredom away.
