image.jpg ~SOTD~ Sunday 5th November

Prep ~ face wash- Donkey & Goat milk soap
Razor ~ Fatip Grande (on loan from @Shave to the grave )
Blade ~ Iridium Super Extra Stanless
Soap ~ La Savonniere du Moulin & Mitchell's Wool Fat combination (Fat Woolly Donkey)
Brush ~ Semouge 1460
Scuttle ~ Giles Shaving Co
Post ~ BBA PSB
Scent ~ Tom Ford Amber Absoloute ( copy oil Mr Perfume )

With thanks to @the Irish barber for the inspiration, this morning I grated equal parts of the above soaps and after mixing well I pressed into a small cup and proceeded to lather in my scuttle as normal.
I believe I ended up with a soap that was greater than the sum of its parts. I knocked up the most luxurious creamy lather that contained not only donkey milk but tallow and lanolin.
To say I was impressed is an understatement .......try it!
The Fatip razor was kindly lent to me by @Shave to the grave, thanks M. It performed wonderfully and gave me a close shave without irritation or mishap.
I finnished off with the wonderful BBA PSB followed by a dab here and there with the Amber Absoloute perfume oil, perfect. :)

Have a great Sunday but let's be careful out there! :) P.

Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Wilkinsons Fruits~ Coconut & Vanilla Body Butter.

Brush: Semogue 1305.

Face Lather.

Soap : Boots ~ Original Shave Stick .

Blade: Treet Platinum (2)

Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic .

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Alum Block./Lavender+Peppermint Oil & Witch Hazel Mixture. /Boots ~ Freshwood A/S .

Boots ~ Freshwood A/S Balm.

Greetings,

Guy Fawkes Day Shave.

A nice relaxing 3 pass + pick ups sunday morning shave with no errors to report.

Maiden shave of the boots shave stick, the verdict?..

A very good performing stick which provided a slick protective lather for the shave, and a nice post shave feeling.Could i ask for more?
The second use of the Treet Platinum blade worked well in the Wilkinson Sword Classic , not BBS but sufficiently DFS smooth, with no irritation which is what i always aim to achieve each time i shave..BBS is a bonus, but i'm not obsessional to get it with every shave.

Finishing off with the Boots freshwood Aftershave & Balm duo.wonderful stuff, one of my favourite high street shaving products you can buy in the UK.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your Sunday, ladies & gentlemen.
I like Boots shaving soap/stick, in my opinion the performance and the scent is very good. Freshwood Aftershave is very nice but the only downside is the scent doesn't last long.
For my Boots Freshwood shave, I use freshwood brushless cream as a pre-shave and I also added few menthol crystals to the Aftershave, it may be only my imagination but I think the scent lasts bit longer.

Pre: Warm water face wash
Brush: Omega 20102 Boar
Soap: La Toja Stick
Razor: Schick I1
Blade: Schick Twin
Post: Warm then cold water rinse, La Toja Balsamo

My first time with a twin blade and I must say they are super efficient, though the shave was even more robotic and clinical than a normal injector shave.
The final result is superb but is enjoyment too high a price to pay?

Gunmetal 6C (#5)
Voskhod (#1)
Cella
Bc Synth

A weekend away in London to visit a friend meant hard water was used today, following a sub-standard nights sleep after watching the Blackheath fireworks display, as opposed to my normal super-soft water in Wales. Not to worry, Cella is up to the task! Unfortunately, it was a steamy little bathroom so visibility was lacking but the cheap marzipan cream was more than able! One pass and a couple of guesswork touch-ups left me smooth with no irritation whatsoever! A couple of patches missed but I'll reapproach them tomorrow. :) Voskhod and the 6C are a great pairing! Barely felt the stubble being pinged away.

Gunpowder, treason and plot...
Do you sympathise with us Londoners Ben? We have to use that poxy water everyday.

+ 1 on using the freshwood brushless cream as a pre-shave,i also do the same, great minds..I'll have to try adding a few menthol crystals, great tip;)..Like most aftershaves they have a short lingering power, but the performance & post shave feeling is wonderful.

Sunday 5th November

Birch Tar Soap
RSC Facial Scrub
Vitos Preshave Cream
Karo Classic Shaving Cream
Little Wren Pottery Bowl
Semogue SOC 2 band Badger in Cherry Wood
Dovo Inox 5/8 razor in Olive Wood
Alum Block with Rinse
Homemade Buttermix
Benjamins Bay Rum with Pimento
Molecule 01 Super ISO E

I needed a good relaxing shave after last night. We returned home late after the Festival of Remembrance to discover my 'wee sweetheart' (a Jack Russell/Poodle cross) was missing. Eventually we found the note stuck in the letterbox. She had been found in a state of distress a mile from Home. She had managed to escape from the 'secure area' at the back of the house. No organised fireworks....but apparently some one had let off a few big ones. I have decided that fireworks are evil things and there will be no more trips out around the time of Bonfire Night:(

Fantastic 3 pass BBS Sunday Shave....and Seren is cwtched (cuddled) up beside me. She won't let me out of her sight.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Glad to hear she is home safe,it's good to keep them company this time of year. My wee Lakeland terrier wasn't too bad last night.

Sunday 5th November

Face wash with Wright's Coal Tar Soap
BBA Pre Shave Oil
Tabac
Simpsons Colonel X2L
Merkur 39
Shark Super Stainless (1)
Lime witch hazel mixture
Wickham 1912 Russian Leather Balm ~(sample from @Agent Shave )
Mr Perfume Kreed Sublime Vanile Attar Oil

I had plenty of time for my shave this morning. Having dropped my wife at work early this morning means I've got the house to myself, so no chance of interruptions.
I used the pre shave oil for the first time in ages today. Two drops is enough, any more and things get a little too slippy ! It did it's job well, not that the soap needed any help.
I hadn't used Tabac for a while, and it's shiny pot was just sat there in the cabinet and I felt the need for it's old school scent and lather. It didn't disappoint, but I still find I don't like using the Simpsons Colonel, much prefering my synthetic brushes. Nonetheless it's a fine brush.
Given that I had the luxury of not having to rush I opted for my Merkur 39C paired with a fresh Shark blade. I wouldn't use this combo if I needed to take a short time shaving
The weight of the longer handle (compared with the 37C) makes this razor more aggressive, so a very light touch was needed. BBS finish was achieved with no errors or irritation.
Russian Leather Balm is doing the business, my skin is supple and hydrated.
Sublime Vanile oil applied behind the ears finished off my Sunday morning shave in style
I've had the full treatment this morning Accompanied by Mr Waters

Have a good day Y'all !

I'm pleased to hear your furry family member is safe and well
I too think fireworks, especially in residential areas are harmful to our pets wellbeing
Arriving home from collecting my wife from work last night there were fireworks being let off from a house on our street. As I stood and watched the display for a moment I thought to myself that if we still had our recently departed boy, he would have been a quivering wreck. He was always afraid of loud noises, and we always dreaded this time of year. We tried everything we could to alleviate his nervousness over the years but nothing helped the poor mite
Give your special friend an extra hug from me !

Have a good day Y'all !
A great song from Mr Waters, one that was new to my ears. :)

Give your special friend an extra hug from me !
I will indeed...thank you!
I originally come from N Ireland where fireworks were banned for many years. When things quietened down a little...the purchase of fireworks was reintroduced....but only with a licence which was so expensive that it pushed people towards attending organised events. Quite a good idea actually!

I'm pleased you enjoyed it
I find the lyrics very thought provoking, it's my favourite Waters track.
It's from the album titled The Pro's And cons Of Hitchhiking.
I have a few albums of Walters but that one has escaped my attention untill now, all of his lyrics are thought provoking, I think that's why I enjoy him so much and his live stuf is outstanding. Thanks for posting. :) P.
