S.O.T.D. Saturday 4th Febuary to Friday 10th Febuary 2017

A weekend shave uploaded today. A buddy on here has sent over a few razors for me to play with, the first of which that I decided to use is the Gillette aluminium tech. My first DE shave for a while and I also had a little bit of redness on my neck.

The shave wasn't the best, for a couple of reasons, I'd run out of hot water, so the water was lukewarm, not ideal when you are shaving later in the evening. I also didn't get the best lather from the CRSW.

The shave itself was reasonable, two passes, relatively tidy, I like the slim profile on the head. The handle is lovely looking. I think I just need a couple more DE shaves to get me back in the swing.

Hard to wake up this morning!

Have a good day gents

Brush: Omega 21762
Razor: Hone Type 15
Soap: Proraso Green
Post: Proraso Green

A change today using a white background instead of a black one. Looks very nice in my opinion, for my light box I used two pieces of PVC foamex instead of the material drops. I find they mark and stain easily, this looks much better.
Feeling a little blocked up so used some Proraso Green to unblock my nose a little.

Today was my first use of a Ladas in my Hone Type 15, previously I had used a Ladas last year and got a bad shave so I have been hesitant about using one, but I tried one yesterday and it went well so risked it today. I have to say one of my best shaves with the Hone, very pleasant, smooth and no irritation. Finished off with some Proraso Green.

More from the here's why Jeff can't have nice things file, a trimmed to fit Permasharp DE blade in a Shovelhead. Yes it works, very well. What's the point? You will recall my last headshave with the Shovelhead required touch up with the Shake Sharp.I've now done two headshaves like this and it gives a closer shave than a Gem. Sorry, it just does. Among me SEs only the Shovelhead cap is deep enough to accept the trimmed at the sides DE. Aggressive, loud, and very very enjoyable shave. I used two injector blades as shims under the DE, YMMV on that complication.

-Simpsons Duke 3 in Pure
-Pre de Provence 63
-Proraso Green

An excellent shave today, making use of some of my more under-appreciated software. Just one more example of a soap that proves you don't have to have tallow to be good.
The Kai Captain is a great razor. It comes a very close second to my Kai Excelia Non folding.

Razor..Pal Adjustble
Blade..Schick #3
Soap..Old Spice..shulton
Brush..Semouge 1305 boar
Post..Thayers lavender AF witch hazel
AS..Old spice..shulton

My third shave with the Pal, just about got used to the angle of attack and getting great shaves from this very good looking razor.
The old spice seemed the perfect soap and aftershave to use with this 1960s razor, an enjoyable shave.

Untill the next time........
