Yesterday's shave with the Fatip Piccolo + Gillette Platinum must have been better than I thought as there seemed to be less growth than usual after 24 hours. This is my third shave with a Personna blade in the L1 and while it did not have much work to do, I definitely got a better shave than before with this blade. Do they get a bit better after a few uses? Before I said I might give up on the Personna blades when compared to the Chinese Shick blades but this shave was smooth, close and irritation free. The last two shaves with this blade were both with NSS Old Grey Bristle Test Soap, could it be that using Cella made a difference? Who knows, I will shave with this blade again with both soaps again.

A great shave with an absolutely fantastic razor. Have a great day, all.
 
First outing with the v2 Shake Sharp, Permasharp blade (2). Software was a DIY version of the American Club Ultra Glide oil (Meadowfoam, Aloe, Avocado primary ingredients). Setting and securing the Permasharp seems trickier than in the Bakelite v1 but once accomplished this thing is fantastic. Offering blade exposure and gap comparable to the Muhle 2011 and singing like an SE bat out of hell (depending on angle chosen) but still able to deliver a five star BDBS head and beard shave in its premier appearance with no bloodletting. Killer.

The Rosa shaving soap has a dusky rose scent and made lather with good cushion and excellent glide. The UFO Godzilla handle is great, both in appearance and grip.

Shame to follow such a nice looking set up with this photo but I was having a bit of an experiment.

I love the blue stratos scent and the foam cane free with the edt, I think. So I thought as it's been over a year since I got into "proper" shaving I'd give one a go, as my technique is much much better than when I used cartridges.

The lather lacked substance and I've got fragrance overkill but the shave wasn't that bad. I've seen a lot of things written about how much better soaps and creams are, which they are, but I did begin to wonder how much better and are we just trying to justify our spending lol. Thankfully the money spent on soaps etc is well worth it after tonight's experiment.

Certainly not the worst shave I've had though.
