I ordered one of these today, if you haven't already taken the plunge I'll let you know what it's like when it's here.

received this today, i've not soaked it but at face value it appears to be good quality, my only gripe is there is a strange mark right in the centre of the lid, I dont know if its caused in turning but for £5 its good quality.[attachment=0]
 
Sorry, soak was the wrong word I meant more of a scrub as there is quite a strong but not unpleasant smell to it, like it's been sprayed with cologne, I doubt very much there will be any staining from this bowl as mentioned in earlier posts.

I'm going to be grating some palmolive into this and am quite tempted to get another for some mama bears.

Yes, thats an ugly turning belly button...

Turns out it was a hole that had been filled in with some putty
 
It looks very much like the one I bought for £3 from ebay, but from a different seller. It's fine now it's stopped leaching the stain out of it, although it looks a bit washed out.

Coincidentally I've just won a beech bowl from Connaught on ebay - £3.45 posted :D
