What's In Your Fragrance Stash?

For one who had a low opinion of colognes and the like when I first entered these halls of enlightenment, I seem to be growing my stock of smellies and taking much more of an interest. Not quite a Fragrance Acquisition Disorder yet but it seems to be starting down that road. Of course, enablement and monkey bequeathing on here have nothing at all to do with it. :p

So, my small stock stands at:

1 1/2 30ml bottles of Paul Smith London EdT, an old favourite.
1/3 of a 4oz bottle of vintage Shulton Old Spice cologne ( a monkey from El Martino :D)
1 100ml bottle and 1 30ml bottle of my new discovery, Arran Aromatics Bay Citrus EdT
1 1/2 100ml bottles of Blue Stratos EdT which is cheap as chips but really good.
1/2 a small sample bottle of Givenchy Xeryus which I'm rather taken with.
1 100ml bottle of Mr Taylor's cologne - I wish it lasted longer on my skin.

Others I've tried and enjoyed and would not have even sampled were it not for the generosity of fellow members are:

Jacomo de Jacomo
Caron Yatagan
D R Harris Windsor EdT
Taylor's No.74 Victorian Lime
James Bronnley Original EdT

Others that pique my interest are Trumper's Spanish Leather and their Ajaccio Violets, Taylor's Jermyn Street & D R Harris' Marlbourough. These would be at the upper level of my spending power though.

So, let's see your own lists, preferences and those that are on your radar. I look forward to a lot of reading. Methinks Vinny might need to contact a publisher first!

My fragrance monkey has bitten hard. All of these are EDTs in various stages of usage:

WOULD BUY AGAIN
Caron Yatagan
Caron L'Anarchiste
Pens Blenheim Bouquet
Pens Opus 1870
Pens LP No 9
Pens Castile
JPG Le Male
Davidoff Cool Water

NOT SURE IF I'D BUY AGAIN
Hugo Boss - Nice smell, but not longlasting on me
JPG Kokorico - a bit marmite
Caron 3rd Homme - again a nice smell, but possibly a bit too strong
Caron Pour Un Homme De Caron - maybe too 'lavendery'!
Pens Juniper Sling - not worth the additional expense
GFT Marlborough and Wellington - not longlasting on me
Cerruti 1881 - only just got so more sampling needed!

WOULDN'T BUY AGAIN
Pens English Fern - not to my tastes

I can't recall clearly, but I fell into this shaving niche thanks to a sub forum on Basenotes. Thus I've already fallen into that trap and came out the the other side - smelling of roses, sometimes. I've probably spent as much on frags in the past as I have on shaving stuff.

I've cut down to three open bottles:

Diptyque Philosykos (Eau de parfum) - Figs and coconuts
Diptyque Tam Dao. (Eau de toilette) - Cedar and sandalwood
Serge Lutens Chergui (Eau de parfum) - Honey, tobacco, hay

Plus a depleting load of decants and samples from Frederic Malle, Serge Lutens, Diptyque, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Penhaligon's and Floris.

Non- aftershaves:
Thierry Mugler Cologne
Paco Rabane 1 Million (gift)
Tobs Jermyn Street
St. James Founders Reserve Cedarwood and Clarysage
Vintage Imperial Leather
Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad
4711 vintage and new-ish
Marks and Spencer Collezione Nero
Hugo Boss Bottled
Penhaligon's Endymion

Might be a phase but having a love affair with all things vetyver at the moment although the Habit Rouge does get an occasional look in
Guerlain Habit Rouge
Guerlain Vetyver

Ridiculous amounts at the moment, unused bottles, part used bottles, nearly empty bottles and crazy amounts of samples.

I would say I am not far off a different fragrance every day for a year:-/

And I would say 99% is from being enabled of this forum...thanks fellas:heart:

Top of the shop at the moment,

Lalique-Encre Noire
Penhaligons-Juniper Sling

Have you tried C&S Cuba, Vinny?

For some reason I really fancy giving it a go, though the reviews on Basenotes make it sound like a very unwise blind buy.

Cuba is a good one. All the 'boozy' references are spot on but I know what you're talking about - the Basenotes reviews and 'that' note.

There is something there, but, not like people make out.

Grab a sample pack from C&S and see.

... just starting:

EDTs
Armani Acqua di Gio
Armani Pour Homme
Dolce & Gabbanna The One For Men
Body Shop White Musk

Colognes
Tabac

Aftershaves
Brut Original
Brut Musk
Old Spice
Blue Stratos
Jovan Musk
Quorum
4711
Tabac

... you can see, I had a couple of mainstream scents prior to traditional shaving and so far have amassed a few retro-scents as aftershaves.

I'll be concentrating on classics now: ED Pinaud, Myrsol, Thayers, GFT, DR Harris and so on ...

Chanel Egoiste
Chanel Pour Monsieur
Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree
Dior Homme
Dior Homme Intense
Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum
L'Artisan Dzongkha
L'Artisan Tea for Two
L'Artisan L'Eau du Navigateur
L'Artisan L'Eau de L'Artisan
Diptyque Tam Dao
YSL Rive Gauche pour Homme
Guerlain Habit Rouge
Guerlain L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Eau Extreme

Shared stake in Chanel Bois des Iles and Sycomore, as long as i don't get caught :icon_rolleyes:

New year will see

Guerlain Heritage
Histoires de Parfums 1725
Histoires de Parfums Amber 114
Diptyque Tam Dao in EdP

Yes, I think the sample pack is definitely a must buy.

Glad you don't detect 'that note'! One of the reviews made me laugh when he said the woman who sprayed it for him had to wash her hands afterwards.
