I think the low end Casio's are the best value watches available I bought a box of these A168WA models whilst abroad and they worked out at roughly £7 each!

My dads old JLC military issue watch I've dated it as 1944 but alas dont know its history. He was called up for the RAF In 1941 but was promptly reclaimed by his employer for specialised war work building retorts for smelting!! I still have his "honourable discharge". He said he didnt like his two weeks in the RAF as they shouted at him a lot and he didnt like margarine!!

Great watch but I'm glad to take it off after a prolonged period. I don't feel my Apple Watch on my wrist after this one.

This is a last gen (?) RAF aircrew watch (civilian version) , which i bought a few years back at a discount. I switched the standard Grey strap over to a cheap black NATO strap.

DW-5600E which i bought from the G-Shock Classic collection some years back, because it reminded me of the original i owned in the 80's.
Since then i have ended up wearing it a lot, because its light, comfortable and slim - absolutely love it

Still the best G-Shock ever produced in my opinion; originally had this version with the gold buttons; wore it for about 25 years before it literally fell to bits and now own the version above - can't beat it; simplicity, strong, tough and stylish!

@whitesix - I would second the recommendation for Watch Obsession - I use Hirsch natural rubber straps on my watch - bought from them - not the cheapest - but worth every penny - in my opinion. Also have a look at Watch Gecko - a huge range - my partner gets her NATO bands from them - I.I use Watch Obsession. Great selection of quality straps and service is excellent too, although there probably are cheaper options for NATO straps.
