What are you listening to?

Here is a rather cheesy 1974 disco track, but with a fantastic stabby rhythm guitar part.

An interesting bit of trivia is that the backing track was originally recorded by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch from KC & The Sunshine Band. They then paid Jerome Smith $15 to put a guitar on it. Yes, thats $15! They frequently functioned this way in the early days of KC & The Sunshine Band, keeping a minimum of core band members and then bringing in session musicians on an as-needed basis.

The track was not originally intended for McCrae, but after adding his vocals the resultant combination of infectious rhythm and falsetto vocals turned it into an international hit.

If you just want to listen to the rhythm guitar part, start around 3:30 mins. Along with anything by Nile Rodgers this is some of the best funky disco rhythm guitar you'll ever hear.
