Bovril crisps were the business! (Smiths, I think). With Oxo (Golden Wonder) a close second!

Modern day Walkers Marmite don't come close.

You're right! There was a tomato sauce flavoured crisp. I can't remember who made them. I recall I didn't like them though!

Yes they were, they were marketed as a 'canny bag of crisps ' bought out and closed down by walkers.

They had a factory in Peterlee , Henry the 8th was their logo , they had a large image of him on the side of the building , it always fascinated me when as a youngster my father drove past it .
