The importance of a handle

The iKon Bulldog II is hands down my favourite, classic looks, ideal size and good grip. It's currently enjoying a long-term relationship with my Wolfman OC head.

Interestingly, that's almost exactly the same size as the Atlas, which seemed to work so well with my Wolfman OC head.

Interestingly (for me anyway), I was watching myself with the Atlas handle, and I noticed it's too short for me to have anywhere to put my little finger. So I swapped back to the stock Wolfman handle, and made a concerted effort to fold my little finger away and not touch the handle with it.

Great shave! No stings from the alum at all.

So I think I may have solved a mystery, at least in terms of my own shaving.

What is an Epee handle? Epee is french for sword, that's all I know from my schoolboy french :)

Yes, that's a foil. The principle is for a long and counterweighted handle. In use, I tend to hold by the pommel end, thus pommelling.

... look at the chap on the left and see how far back his hand is on the handle, a practice widespread in epee fencing and frowned upon by non-pommellers!
