I cannot say the same on the modern razors.

I would like to try a Fatip open comb at some point but I heard they are quite vicious and can nick easily.Is their quality and finish ok now. I have read a lot of complaints about Fatip quality on internet research.I don't plan on an R41 any time soon!

I was thinking about that actually. I live in a flinty area. I thought about sharpening them, putting them on a handle, liberal use of the word "artisan" and sticking them on ebay...

My Piccolo is well finished ( seems to be the luck of the draw ) and affords a smooth, clean shave with no probs.

My piccolo is perfectly good too, always gives a great shave and so far it is still my favourite DE Razor.

the assumption that stainless steel razors get better machining that what Gillette did in the 30s, or what is done on say, the wieshi, is well pure speculation.

Unless you have one in each hand, then it's a matter of observation.

Mine is fantastic, and not dangerous at all, aggressive but smooth and user friendly. Best modern DE for the price hands down, solid brass and a great shaver!
