And a first entry for this week of SOTD's and a first run out for the newly arrived Lambda Athena. So a very sheep based theme for this evening and so named, 'Athena. A sheep in wolf's clothing or mutton dressed as lamb?'
I was going to put 'No sheep til Buxton' by the Macc Lads in here, but it comes out as an age restricted video. I didn't know anyone on here was under the age of 18 and assumed we were all closer to 81. Ah well.
Baa baa black sheep - Lambda Athena
And dream of sheep - Feather
Who kept the sheep - AP Shaving 24mm Cashmere
The sheep look up - Signature Soaps Londinium
Your mother was a sheep - L'Occitane Cade

'So get me right. You want us to shorn this lot. With a fucking razor?'
Lambda. The eleventh letter in the modern Greek alphabet and the twelfth in the old Greek alphabet. So somewhere back in time someone must have stolen a letter making some old Greek words an impossibility to pronounce these days.
Lambda. Pieces of shaving art created in modern Greece and items to be stared at only. Good God, even the box is a piece of wonderment which opens and closes far better than any IKEA cabinet ever does.
And comes complete with some obscure blades I have never heard of. BIC, yes. But BIC Astors? The others look to be Russian in origin. Do I use them or post them back to a Mr V Putin? Loose in an envelope.
To complete the package a little leaflet and a personal certificate. Interesting that in the purchase process I was asked if I would like any particular serial number in the batch. What a waste of bloody time that was as some other bugger had already taken my choice. So if anyone on here has 22-222, me and you at 8, name your place.
So, what about the razor you boring old fart?
I was sold on the Athena the first time I saw one and it became my number one priority must have (Mrs Satanfriendly ranks around 37th). And after some months here it is. Not only is it aesthetically beautiful but it also beautifully engineered. Everything fits together with such precision and accuracy and as @Tony'schin made mention, it just oozes quality.
In passing I rank around 103rd in Mrs Satanfriendly's books
And in use?
Didn't someone make a remark it is similar to a Feather AS? From what I remembered about the Feather it was one of the mildest razors I have ever met and I don't really recall it feeling quite like the Athena. I wouldn't describe it as mild, or aggressive, but personal thoughts are it sits somewhere in the middle. I was expecting a mild stance and so I loaded with a Feather in anticipation. As it is I found it to be a great pairing but not in the same sense as trying to make an 89 perform with a bit more edginess, but more just a certain synergy which works brilliantly.
It is buttery smooth and efficient and not one bit of that Iamgoingtoopenyouupability cried out. It is just wonderful in every way, whichever direction you are shaving. With, across, against, it doesn't care as they all feel assured and comfortable. It just gets on and does a superb job and it just feels right.
Absolutely delighted after the first shave and I am sure the way it has impressed me so far will only but continue.
The end results were one very happy and close finish. A splash of Witch Hazel, a massage of Cade balm and shaven life feels heavenly kind.............It is a shame I am ranked 103 but I can always talk to the pillow.
But I never did buy this razor to shave with. I bought it to stare at. And on the subject of staring, it seems sometime since I gave you some Yoshi to stare at so it is over to Aldious to sing you out...
A beautiful looking lamb
