1st use of the Occam today, I decided on a super-lather as the blade does move and rattles, although, apparently it does not effect the shave.
@Ferrum mentioned that the lather quietens it down.
I went for a 3 pass shave as I wanted to take my time as when i hold the razor it does not "feel" natural and i did not want to make any boo-boo's.
Starting i had to steepen the angle as the blade did not seem to be cutting, it could be the thin flat handle makes for a steeper angle. Even though the razor is very lightweight i applied no pressure whatsoever and the WTG pass went fine until i tried to manoeuvre around the RH side of my neck/Jaw/ear, i took a few attempt's to change the grip to get a correct head angle (with a round handle i just twist it in the fingers until the head is where i want it) - A very Comfortable efficient pass without any issues.
The ATG pass was easier without any issues with angle and you start to get a feel for the handle, the XTG was even more familiar. It does not take long before the "Strange" grip feel goes. The blade noise did not distract me at all during the shave as the Lather keeps everything quiet. At no point throughout the shave did the razor give the impression it was going to bite me.
i really enjoyed the experience and a very smooth finish has been achieved. Nothing from the Alum block which is always a bonus. a Dollop of E45 and a splash of Floid Mentolado Vigaroso Special Edition.
Feeling very nice with BBS chin and smelling pretty good too.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend.
