I certainly was inspired by @chard52142's Mr Whippy pictures.Ad photographers often cheat by using shaving soap to replicate ice cream because it doesn't melt in the studio. NatJag cheats by using ice cream instead of shaving soap because it looks good in photos and he gets hungry during a shave
I think he learned this from @chard52142
This is entirely true - in my experience - my first job - before they let me loose with my Nikons into the wider world - was in a commercial studio - a fair chunk of the work was food photography - Christmas pudding - to satisfy people's expectations - we used to set fire to them with liquid lighter fuel - brandy flames don't register on film properly - ice cream? Mashed potato dyed the appropriate shade by the food tech. The prime directive - if you were taking the picture of a finished dish - for a cook book - that sort of thing - it had to be shot from a top down angle - as if you were just about to pick up a knife and fork and get stuck in. Don't believe everything you see. I.Ad photographers often cheat
Cheating, in the context of art, can also reflect creative genius. Starting October off in style with a face & head shave using my vintage Gillette tech paired together with the Indian Gillette 7'O Clock SP which has excelled itself feeling smooth and efficient with each shave throughout the week.
