Fri 29th Nov

RazoRock Syn. 22mm
Vitos Super Red
Occams V2/No3plate
Feather Proguard ( 5 )
Pitralon Original A/S Lotion

After a poor sleep I just wanted a good no fuss Shave. With this in mind the Occams was a good choice as it always delivers a smooth Shave with an excellent finish, especially when assisted by the Vitos lather.

Razor: ABC 1910 CA Smooth Ball(Gold) PC91653. The handle is solid, not hollow
Blade: Gillette 7 C'Clock Super Stainless Green
Brush: Vie Long Blanco American Barber 04513
Pre-Shave: Georgetown Pottery G12 Scuttle
Lather: Stirling Deep Blue Sea

I'm trying to offer some product balance with all of the modern razors out there.

Friday AM 2019-11-29

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney 1/1 Faux Horn Finest (22/45)
Ralph Lauren Safari shaving soap (tallow)
Wolfman WR1-SB 0.80 Mirror-Polished/WRH1
Gillette Super Stainless 'Spoiler' (1)
Ralph Lauren Safari aftershave balm (vintage)

A new soap puck, and it made beautiful lather. The razor is just a touch more aggressive than I like, but it's smooth. And the blade, while good, is not one of my favorites.

Prep : warm water / Proraso Green pre-shave
Razor : Fatip Grande Gentile
Brush : Omega Hi-Brush
Blade : Supermax / Wilkinson Sword
Soap : Lea classic
Bowl : Bamboo bowl
Alum : De Vergulde Hand
After shave : Brut original

The Supermax was on it's end, 1 pass today, 2nd pass done with the Wilkinson.
3,5 shaves (7 passes total) for the Supermax, not much but considering their price (€9,95 200 blades) it's ok for having them in spare.

Prep: Bath and face wash with simple soap and exfoliating sponge.
Pre-shave: Proraso white
Soap: Arko warm lathered in q-shave scuttle
Brush: Omega 49 boar
Razor/blade: Merkur 37C slant/Astra green (1)
Post: alum block/cold water rinse
Aftershave: proraso green
Balm: Nivea sensitive

Better 3 pass shave this morning with a new blade and voluminous slick lather.

Razor: 1958 Gillette Superspeed Flare Tip
Blade: Nacet (1)
Brush: Oumo SHD Manchuria
Soap: ES Bay Rum
Pre: Proraso Red
ASL: Williams AV
ASB: Creightons

I've had a long run of new DE razors lately so thought it time for a bit of vintage. I bought this old lady in February and this is her first outing.

What a shave! Easy BBS finish. This has served as a good reminder as to why there's still a lot of love for old Gillettes.

The ES Bay Rum is a great cream (and their others). It gives me a very light tingle when I use it but not to the point where it's uncomfortable. The scent and performance encourage me to keep using it.

SOTD Friday 29 November 2019

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser, followed by Prorasso Red Pre/post Shave.
Soap: Oatcake Gingerbread.
Brush: Shavemac Flattop.
Razor: Pils 101NE.
Blade: Shark Platinum (Day 5).
Post: Pitralon Swiss, followed by Bioaroma After Shave Moisturizing Face Cream.
EDP: Captain Fawcett Booze and Baccy.

A very relaxing 2 pass shave WTG and XTG, with no issues to report; the Shark was still smooth but a notable drop-off in performance, today was probably the last day.

The Oatcake Gingerbread is a great soap; very thirsty, however, great protection, slickness and scent - dare I say it very Christmassy I found the Booze and Baccy to be a complementary EDP to finish off with.

All in all a great shave.

I hope every one is good and safe; take care all,

Chris

That is a handsome setup - beautiful looking brush - let's enjoy our badgers - before they become illegal. Williams - one of my favourite after shaves. I was sorry to read about your experience of using the 1912 - each to their own - I guess. What's with the fish knife? I.

Hi Iain. It's a vintage fish knife that was kindly gifted to me by Russ @RussellR5555 to aide with cleanly taking shaving cream from the tub for use. Because of that generosity, it's actually the item I hold most dear in my den.

I need to give the 1912 another go at some point. I didn't give myself enough time to get used to it and I understand the Gem blades take a few shaves to smooth out so I threw the towel in way to early.

She's a sweet looking dog, she was rescued by the right person P.
