Greetings,

(Face & Head Shave)

A new shave set up to start the weekend. It's been some time since I last used the Ming Shi 2000s Futur clone. "Wow" what an incredibly comfortable close efficient shave.!!! Both my face & head are error-free BBS dolphin smooth. The Dorco Prime Platinum pairs with the razor superbly. This is the best combined face & head shave I've had with the Ming Shi 2000s Futur clone to date.

The Ming Shi 2000s Futur clone alone, like most of my more assertive razor's has vastly improved my technique and shaving confidence multitude.

Another close comfortable combined face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd Essential No 19 EdP to the pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Dreams of an absolute PERFECT razor shattered!
Don't get me wrong it's not a bad razor in fact it's hard to find something else that would beat this in terms of looks, craftsmanship and above all the level of engineering. But for me the shave lacked that 'je ne sais quoi'. Maybe I had too high hopes.

Pre - Dove Original Beauty Cream Bar
Brush - Erasmic AP Shave Co Silksmoke 24mm
Soap - D. R. Harris Arlington
Razor - Hone 15S - Windrose handle
Blade - Wizamet Super Iridium
Post - Cold water Rinse
Balm - Barts Balm Ben Macdui - Rosemary & Sandalwood
A/S - Mäurer & Wirtz 4711 Jasmine

I had to try a different handle on the Hone, it feels safer in hand and the balance is not too bad, although, as warned, the smooth looks of the head / handle alignment are well out.
Just a single pass today after some real close shaves this week. I need to prep my face for tomorrows planned Straight shave.
Enjoy your day all.

Southern Witchcraft ‘Desairology’
Brad Sears- AP Shave Co 28 mm GS5A SHD
Merkur Futur
Brazilian Gillette #6
SMN rose water

Head and face shave after a shower, the big fan shaped knot devours soap! Great shave all round but the blade is starting to fade so it’s for the bin. GEM Micromatic I think I’ll give a run out next, have a great weekend everyone.

Sat 20th April

Aleppo soap- Shave pre wash
RR 400- SE Plissoft noir
Vitos Super Red
Occams Oren 3dot plate
Schick Proline ( 3 )
Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion

Seems as though most of my recent Shaves have been with a Proline on board different Razors. This is a good blade that can be used in AC/SE Razors and even Injectors. Though you have to load the B types into a Blade dispenser to load them. Maybe have another Shave tomorrow as going out to an Open Athletics Meeting, just hope it warms up a bit.

All the ingredients for a fantastic shave and yet… it wasn’t. I managed to underload the brush with a Signature Soap no less! Not an easy thing to do. To compound this further I added too much water as I lathered, rather than adding more soap. The first pass lather was to thin. Then the lather died in the brush, much more likely for me in a badger brush. I had to go back to the soap for the second pass anyway. All the years of wet shaving and I can still completely cock it up.
Nearly forgot to mention I still got a close, comfortable and safe shave with the Tatara, despite trying not to. I’ll be better tomorrow.

Some first tries today:
First try of a Personna Lab Blue in the Schrägschnitt. This razor seems to bring the best out of every blade I've tried in it. No exception with this blade. Some minor irritation on the neck.

First try of the Scottish Fine Soaps shaving soaps. Took a chance on a pack of five of these, cheap, based on the ingredients list. I used @pjgh 's excellent formulations thread to make an educated punt on them and I got a very decent lather easily. A mild herbal woody scent to my uneducated nose.

First try (in a long, long time) of the Pinaud Clubman. I had a sample of this years ago and liked the smell but not enough to seek it out. Some might say it has quite an 'old man' smell if that means anything; it's a little uncharitable as it's a decent traditional scent. Not something I'd use every day but as an occasional change.

Rating: 4 / 5

Razor: Neo Lux Schrägschnitt

Razor: Wolfman WR1 0.86mm
Blade: Astra SP, 1st use
Brush: Highlander “Azzuri” Custom Brush Boti 4th Gen Pink 3 Color Synthetic Knot
Bowl: 3D Printed Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: PAA Future Fiction Croap
Aftershave: PAA Future Fiction Cologne
Balm: Proraso Crema Liquida Dopobarba Balm

My first try with an actual Wolfman kindly thanks to Alan, @ekeko, (the Guerilla doesn’t really count) in exchange with the Oren. I’ve always thought surely that much money can’t make that much difference, but the fit and finish on the WR1 is second to none! You can see this is a top tier razor and I have to say am more than slightly paranoid that I don’t mark the mirror finish! Open combs aren’t usually my thing but this is an amazingly smooth and close shave. It felt like cutting through butter, on my day old stubble and though I felt the open comb it wasn’t at all uncomfortable. It is always a tad nerve wracking when using a loaned razor, but I am extremely grateful for the opportunity so thanks again Alan! I throughly enjoyed my first shave, it was lighter than I thought it would be and very nimble, but after being lulled into a false sense of security I did get one little nick on my neck in my over confidence. It’s definitely an eye opener on the top end of the hobby and one I think I may need to start saving for, as maybe a 50th birthday present in a few years time!
