What a good shave with the Game Changer. The 0.68 version makes a superb pairing with the Feather blade. It is unbelievably smooth. It does not produce the closest of shaves, and some other razors in my small collection can do better, but, it does give a very acceptable result after two easy passes.

Great blind experiment Sig, I was however surprised with the result!
YMMV! :)

Paul.
Thank you, Brother!!
Wanted to do a BOTB for a long time - but in my own way. I haven't come across anyone doing it this way.
There'll be at least 10 more of these vids over time...

I've always claimed that the Astra Green gave me bumps, burns and rashes. Now I have proof.

Have a great weekend!!
And
Stay Safe!!

Gave the Gold Dollar a run out in today’s shave not used it for quite some time..had a lovely shave as expected looking forward to taking it back to the hone for a bit more practice on the finisher some time soon. Again neutral with the soap for testing purposes..featuring @BartsBalm sample D as with all of them excellent performance getting towards the end of the scents now 3 more to go then will be deciding in which order they come for me, already know the favourites but don’t always get a true interpretation off the sample bottle until it’s been applied. Been enjoying sampling the various scents and definitely have 2 I would go ahead and purchase if made available ! Feeling wonderfully nourished and super smoothB5D8A9D9-BE5E-4399-ABCF-0313360EEB1E.jpeg

Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
Bee Clean Honey & Peppermint Shaving Soap
Yaqi Dandelion w/Cashmere Synthetic 24mm
Gillette New (Long Slot)
Gillette Platinum (3) White
Brut Oceans Aftershave

Having mellowed yesterday, today's shave with this previous generation Gillette Platinum was indeed quite nice and pretty much in line with my notes from a few years ago where I found that it took to the third shave for this blade to really come through. Alas, its (not very sharp) sharpness is practically gone by that point. The newer blue pack was just awful from the off - rough, not necessarily tuggy but raw, not particularly sharp and didn't mellow across three shaves.

Unlikely I'll want to use one of these again ...

The soap, however, was delightful! Peppermint is just the ticket for a hot and sticky day like today. I particularly wanted a peppermint soap, rather than menthol or eucalyptus (or even tea tree) and with the Cashmere knot, it really performed. Sufficient cooling post-shave to make the Brut Oceans splash particularly refreshing.

Last Shave On The Homeland for me tonight as i’m off to Norway in the morning again (n)
Razor = Ikon B1 OSS
Brush = PAA The Starcraft 24mm Roswell Grey Synthetic.
Blade = Gillette Nacet ( 3 )
Soap = OSP Spirits
Splash = Myrsol Menthol
Balm = Berts Balms Sample C.
Another Mix & Match today.
The razor iv missed
haven’t used it in over 5 months possibly more & i love it.
Some Ikons are pretty underrated really.
The brush is another class act from PAA
The knot is wonderful & holds the lather well,
No soap is a hassle it lathers up instantly and the handle is so comfortable.
Would love this in Badger.
The Soap im unsure about
quite dark with scents i’m not getting
hopefully another couple of shaves with it & ill understand it a bit more.
The Balm is class for any you lads not tried Barts.
This one i’m getting a lot of Citrus and a fresh post shave feel.
These balms are quite thick and & little goes a long way

Prep with a hot rinse and Proraso red; Razor Emporium Sandalwood soap properly lathered with a Yaqi lucky dice in the Little Wren mug. Taken off using Merkur 34C loaded with a Personna blue - 2 passes and pick-ups, as Mrs D was dishing out the food! Quickly balmed with matching sandalwood.
Double time finish, nice and smooth. Not quite BBS, but happy with it none the less.

This afternoon -

razor - Mergress (2)
blade - Gillette yellow (5?)
soap - Ach Brito - Lavanda cream
brush - Semogue 2015 HD silvertip badger
post - witch hazel
a/s - Quorum
balm - Bart's lavender lotion
scent - Quorum edt.

Today's shave based on conversation on another thread about old-school scents - and all the better for it. How much more lavender? - pretty much none more. Well 80's - one feels ashamed one does not have a hairy chest. I enjoyed that - I hope you enjoy yours - best all - I.

Oh - I post this for the benefit of the community - if you are starting out and fancy synthetic knots - and why not? There are many reasons to recommend them - personally, I don't get on with them - I do have three or four synth brushes but only use them grudgingly. That being said - it seems there are a bewildering array of choices - this is a basic guide - not up to date, it doesn't include recent PAA or Simpson fibres for instance. Somewhere to start - https://sharpologist.com/days-badger-hair-shave-brush-numbered/

Also with this link - be aware of the fact that this site is highly commercialised - don't just click on 'accept all cookies' unless you want to spew your browsing history across the t'interweb. I fully accept that the various companies and people that make the lovely shaving things that we use need to make money - but there are different ways of doing that - in a closed system - like here - word of mouth is about the best marketing tool you are going to get? Not an advert generated by Amazon or Google. I'd be interested to know what, one of our own, artisans like @BrianH thinks about the issue? As an adjunct - I don't and won't ever again feel the desire to watch another man shave on YouTube - I'm not sure why I made that comment gender specific? Granted I did a while ago - but realised they range from the stultifyingly boring to the - mostly, preponderant - vanity projects. I know a lot find the posts helpful, but for me - it doesn't work. Each to their own. YMMV.
