Greetings,

Early morning cold water face & head shave.

A new shave set up to start the weekend. which will be a vintage SE razor + frankensoap week.

Starting off with the very efficient gem micromatic o.c. which has taught me the lightest of touch is required when shaving with this efficient SE vintage lady, especially when i do a head shave.

Out of all my SE vintage razor this assertive lady has improved my technique & shaving confidence immensely rewarding me with some sublime comfortable error-free silky smooth shaves.

My first cold water shave of the year was a great wake up call for my face sensors..A great shave.!...I intend to carry on with the cold water shaves for the next month or more.

A smooth invigorating 3 pass + pick ups near BBS cold water face & head shave with non errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of L'0REAL ~ Reinforcing ASB.

My face and precious swede are feeling super smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

How do you do it Pat? Every photo - stunning!

I'm going to attempt and recreate a similar set-up tomorrow and I bet it doesn't even come close.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the photo, Chris

Composition is always perfect, but it's the shadow that really stands out in this one

It's my lack of photographic skill that stops me from adding pics to my SOTD posts

@patw , keep them coming !

PreShave: Warm to hot water, most from the boiled kettle some from the tap
Cream: GFT Eucris
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled T&H cream bowl
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade 7 O'clock Yellow (1)
Post Shave: Alum

Fragrance: Eucris

Again dialed the Futur (my new toy) to 3 for the first pass, then 2.5 and 2, this time with the 7 O'clock. Another three-pass, BBS smooth shave.

Have a good Bank Holiday Saturday (of sorts—odd that it's in the middle of the weekend), and stay safe, folks.

Saturday

Martin de Candre Original (sample)
Yaqi Red Marble Tuxedo 24mm synth
Face lather
Gillette New German Set No.88 (1934, England)
Gillette Wilkinson Sword (6)
Thayer's Lavender and Aloe Vera
Speick after shave

I pushed the Indian GWS to six shaves, which is possibly the most I've comfortably got out of a blade. They are very good, IMO.

Whilst we're on the subject of longevity, the MdC sample still has lots of potential left and it is a good performer.

So, all good. The New delivered the goods as usual. Assertive and smooth.

Stay safe, folks.

Razor: RazoRock Hawk V3
Blade: Schick Proline (8.5)
Brush: AP Shave Co. 28mm SynBad
Soap: A&E L'Orange Verte
Pre: Proraso Azur Lime
ASL: Osma Alum
ASB: Proraso Blue

No photo today as I was sceptical about how this shave would go.

Tried L'Orange Verte today and, again, the scent was lovely but it burnt my face. I don't consider myself a person with sensitive skin but every American soap I've tried has irritated my face. I'm going to give a trusted Italian soap a run tomorrow before trying my final A&E soap - Spartacus. So far, two of the three are destined for the BST.
