SOTD: Saturday 09 to Friday 15 of October 2021

This afternoon -

razor - Vector (on loan)
blade - Feather Pro (8)
brush - Stirling two-band fan
soap - P&B Solaris
post - witch hazel
a/s - Floid mentally vigorous
balm - Floid
scent - Gotas Frescas Hombre.

The Solaris has lost pretty much all of its scent - which is fair enough, it's old - the soap base is fine though. The situation - the lack of scent - is somewhat ironic as I only dug the P&B soaps out to see if the Star Noir still stinks of ammonia - it does. I wondered if the passage of some five odd years had had any positive effect. Nope - still smells like a tom cat pissed in the tub yesterday. An unfortunate incident both for the company and the consumer - I ended up with two 'contaminated' tubs. I wish P&B no harm and am happy they appear to be thriving and are still innovating but I haven't felt the need to buy anything from them since. I should imagine most reading this will have no idea what I am talking about. Selah - I.

I do ,never ordered anything from them again either.

13/10/2021 - OCtober

Razor: ATT R2
Blade: Gillette Nacet (2)
Brush: PAA Peregrino
Soap: RazoRock The Dead Sea

I wasn't expecting to enjoy the R2 as much as I did. It's an ATT - I shouldn't have doubted it.

I love the smell of The Dead Sea but I felt some irritation by the second pass and a bit of frag burn from the splash. I've never had this before from this range. Gutted.

I don't think it's a closeness thing - it's a chemical type burn I've had with other scented soaps that haven't agreed with me. Different to the razor burn type feeling.

Threw things I'm wondering about - I) I wonder if the properties of a soap can change over a few months thereby impacting concentration levels? II) We've just got an inflatable hot tub that I've been enjoying for the past few days. I'm still working out the chemical balance of the water - turns out I'm shit at chemistry. I wonder if the repeated exposure to chlorine and low pH water is increasing my sensitivity? III) I may just be getting more pathetic as I get older.
