Saturday 20th April 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Valet Autostrop (English)
Blade: Feather SE
Brush: Burma Shave Boar
Soap: Speick Stick grated into a container
Aftershave: Simple Balm

Another very nice Autostrop shave, but that 's it for the Feather blade finished after two shaves.

This late 1930's Valet Razor was I believe the penultimate model made and the last with an open comb.

Regards
Dick.

I wasn't taken with the Proraso Green; couldn't get a good creamy lather. However, after reading various posts on here I tried the following:
Put a small teaspoon of soap into the Suribachi
Used a synthetic brush, dipped into water and then lightly shaken
Swirled and dribbled for a full minute or more to turn the original foam into good, rich lather - far, far more than I needed. Result!
Can't say I'm gone on the scent though.

Greetings,

That's it then, you are getting on so well with the Cobra I have abandoned all hope of it coming my way! :icon_sad:

Dick.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch Made Rite badger
1956 Diplomat/Iridium
vintage Lentheric SS
Barbershop Bay Rum AS
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT (black bottle)

Any of the Aristocrat/Diplomat/President group would have been my daily shavers back in the day when these razors were new. The bite is almost perfect for me on those models, and all of em are purty thangs that feel good in my hand. Heh, I probably woulda switched to an adjustable starting in 1958, but who knows for sure.

BBS results,

Martin
