Och, bitten by the #77!

Gillette #77
BIC platinum chrome (2)
MWF
Omega 27mm boar knot
Alum
Scent from Heaven Old Spice 'type' AS
Astral cream

Great shave yesterday with the #77 but today it bit me and I've got a bit of all round irritation too. Shave isn't even all that close on parts of my neck either. I so want to get it on with a vintage razor but nothing apart from the occasional good shave with this or the Old type I gave to a mate, seems to work. Whereas most of the time with the Jagger 89L, all is well. Message in there somewhere - I'm shite at shaving with vintage razors! Jury is out on the Old Spice 'type' from Scent from heaven but it is very good on the skin and boy, did I need it.

TOBS Almond
Neep Guinness SilverTip
Personna Blue Med
Feather Portable
Jack Black AfterShave Gel
Opus 1870

Up early as I'm off on a First Aid course all day. Nice blade razor combo, nearly at the end of the Jack Black so I'm going to need to replace that.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson, Chubby 2
Razor: Dorko
Soap/AS:
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean indeed :D

Nice change of pace with this German lather shovel instead of my usual snow dito :D the vintage Palmolive juice/AS was nice, both in scent and how it preformed :D

Did a 2 pass shave Saturday evening using my NEW feather AC SS fitted with Pro-guard blade,Took my time shaving "about half hour" (don't laugh)
result was a nice smooth clean shave no nicks, cuts irritation,
Prep was as follows.
Cold water splash straight from the tap, soak brush in cold water for a few min's whilst splashing face.
Small blob of kiss my face dabbed on cheeks and chin of wet face then smooth over face, Few drops of Glycerine into puck of MWF
shake brush out then start to swirl to load brush-up with soap, once loaded start to cold face lather, repeatedly dipping the brush as many times as req'd in cold water and continue to lather-up to what i thought was the right consistency.
Rinse feather under cold running water and start the shave, rinsing razor regularly under cold tap.
What i did notice was each time i rinsed the razor under cold water, not all the lather rinsed away from the blade, wonder if lather was a bit too thick??
Happy with the result so far though.

L'Oreal for men facewash.
Muhle R89 razor with Personna red #3.
Vulfix Persian musk shaving cream
TOBS super badger shaving brush.
Neal's Yard after shave balm.
Pino Silvestre EDT.

Nice Winter shave, with snow falling outside !

Prep: Shower
Background: Terry Wogan on Radio2 having dodged the Archers on R4
Pre: Proraso Pre-shave
Cream: Proraso Blue
Razor: Merkur 25C OC
Blade: Astra SP (2) shimmed
Brush: Traditional Shaving Co. Pure Badger
Aftershave: Alum block, Nivea Post Shave balm

First time using Proraso Aloe & Vitamin E cream. I was thinking that the Proraso green was a bit of a cold shock in the morning; and the blue doesn't have that. So now I'm in two minds; the blue is a bit dull but the green is a bit punchy; so better just buy/use them both, can't have too many creams!
Second test drive with an Open Comb. As yesterday was not quite close enough, this time I shimmed to see how much closer it shaved. Definitely can feel it shaving closer, needed touch-ups around jaw line, so maybe still not close enough.

Result: BBS on cheeks, almost BBS on jaw line and chin. I've already prepared another shim for tomorrow to see how a double-shimmed blade performs.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Nanny's Cedarwood and Vetyver
Henk walnut silvertip
Gillette Bleue Extra in Progress on 2
Paco Rabane XS a/s

Superior shave - BBS! The blade doesn't seem to cut on setting 1 so 2 is the magic number for this combo.

Prep: L'Occitaine Shea butter soap & Proraso pre/post
Brush: Kent BK8
Cream: T&H Ultimate shave cream sample
Razor: Weber DLC/UFO Red Goliath XL - Polisilver Stainless
Post: Profs ASB mixed with 444

Luxurious shave not to often I use the BK8 and bowl lathered. BBS results.
