It's definitely a unique scent. It wasn't until someone mentioned liquorice that I realised that's one of the primary notes in there. The Blue is Proraso's attempt at a modern cologne type fragrance.Thursday
Preshave: Argan Oil Soap
Razor: Karve Brass SB D Plate
Cream: Proraso Blue
Blade: Feather (3)
Brush: Shavemac 24mm Synthetic
Splash: Proraso Sandalwood
Balm: Rosemary and Sandalwood
EDT: Dunhill Pursuit
I seem to have trouble with creams got the familiar burning under my eyes I have yet to identify the ingredient, but it seems to be shiny creams that effect me.
I am not sure what the scent is they were going for either as to my nose it is pretty unpleasant , stinks worse than Macca Root Cream from the Bodyshop. unfortunately this one is not for me. In fairness though I would say the lather was very good and nice and slick.

Ha Ha unique for sure or at least I hopeIt's definitely a unique scent. It wasn't until someone mentioned liquorice that I realised that's one of the primary notes in there. The Blue is Proraso's attempt at a modern cologne type fragrance.
I quite like it myself but I'm also an oddball that likes the Maca Root cream
Why the final use of a fine razor if you don't mind me asking? I have the same and what you describe is definitely spot-on for the razor.Today's SOTD: 09/04/20

Razor: Yaqi Chrome Scalloped
Blade: Gillette Winner (3)
Brush: dscosmetics 26mm Synthetic
Soap: TGS Pino Alpestre
Pre: Proraso White
ASL: TGS Pino Alpestre
ASB: None
Final use of the Yaqi Chrome Scalloped. This is a good razor and delivers great shaves. It can make an excellent daily driver or travel razor. Yes it lacks the kudos of artisan offerings but it's well made, has a brass handle, weighted well and will probably last many years - all for less than £13 delivered. I don't think anyone can argue with that.
I've reviewed the soap in the TGS thread. Soap review:
The Goodfella's Smile Reviews
There's not much out there on these soaps so thought it worthwhile starting a thread that provides some feedback on them. I've been making some basic notes as I've worked my way through my collection. Using either the discount codes for vendors or adding these to my Amazon Subscribe and Save...www.theshavingroom.co.uk
I muddled my posts up so that text shouldn't have ended up in SOTD. If I direct you towards this thread, you can see the experiment that's being undertaken:Why the final use of a fine razor if you don't mind me asking? I have the same and what you describe is definitely spot-on for the razor.

Their Vegetale has a lovely scent. I'd recommend it; unless the absence of tallow is a deal-breaker.9/4/20
Soap - Vitos Red
Brush - Yaqi 24mm Plissoft
Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - Bic Platinum Chrome (12)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea
AS - Superdrug Forest Fresh
As superb a lather as Vitos Red produces, I find once it has been open for a while it seems to lose it's scent and all that remains is the tallow smell which tbh isn't one I am really enthusiastic about! A really smooth and comfortable shave today but I seemed to pick up a few ingrowns on the neck, so that's my sign the blade's done, even if I could push it for a few more shaves but still I was pleased with the great shaves I got with the blade.
Have a good day chaps.
