I don't think members here are into vintage soaps so to demonstrate how crazy this hobby can be keep an eye on this auction for a near 60 year old soap.

At least £2.00 between estimates to dissuade tactical voting.

Fot the benefit of anyone who did not pick up my tale.

A few weeks back I told an old friend I was into DE shaving. Among the things he unearthed and gave me was a Yardley soap in a bowl just like this one on Ebay. He was given it in the 1960s and had never even opened the original box.

The very night he gave it to me I tried to find out something about it. And one was just closing on Ebay. It sold for about £53.

I have used mine and it is a great soap. Obviously not worth over £50 if you want to base it on a rational comparison with today's best quality soaps. But this is a bit of nostalgia where price/value goes out of the window.
