Shoe Polishing assistance required.

Great idea on the Oxblood - first time I've ever heard that. Always been a parade gloss man myself.

I used to Dubbin the leather footballs at primary school and they always needed doing after a game so maybe kick your shoes around a cinder pitch!

A bit drastic but sounds effective...

Everyone seems to have their own method of polishing shoes/boots and there seem to be many methods that work well.

I've never heard of dubbin but we used to use something called G wax in the fire brigade for waterproofing which sounds similar.

After I'd applied the G wax to my boots, I would rub it in with a brush and then polish as normal although I remember it taking much longer than usual. I suspect the polishing might have rendered the G wax useless but we were issued both and expected to shine our boots, so that we did.

I'd also always use plain kiwi over parade gloss. Re-apply as soon as the cloth stops feeling smooth over the leather and after applying a LOT of layers of polish, buff vigourously with plenty of spit and never tap water.
