Sunday
Feather AC with Professional Blade
Semogue 1305 Brush
Tabac Shaving Soap
Old Spice Aftershave

Busy , but very nice day planned today:

Swimming with my youngest
Visiting my Brother on his new boat
Pub lunch (unless it's BBQ weather)
Round of Golf

Sounds like a great day. Enjoy!!!!

Sunday

Simpsons Chubby 2 Best
Merkur 38C /Swede
L'Occitana Cade
Tabac A/S

Once I switched to bowl lathering I produced some superb lather. Applied A/S to damp face - felt good!

Quiet day - out for morning coffee, grand prix and 20/20 World Cup Final, j finishing Stieg Larsson's trilogy and usual row about politics with my died in the wool socialist visitor.

Saturday
My current reliable set-up

Mühle R89
Israeli (3)
Pure Badger
GFT Cocunut cream
Alum
Coral Skin Food
Moisteriser

Nice DFS 3 passes with touch ups.

Sunday

Mühle R89
Israeli (4)
Pure Badger
Nanny's Citrus Soap
Alum
Coral skin Food
Moisteriser

Didn't need quite so close a shave today, just 2 passes with a few touch ups and a very nice clean shave (DFS-). I'm starting to get a more consistent lather with the Nanny's soap, which is great.

My face, looks like an angry cat has had a go ... i didn't half cut myself to ribbons. Damn fine shave though.
Huxley, I'm starting to be genuinely worried for your safety. Seriously.

Sunday

Kent BK4
Wallace Armer 5/8 round point

P.160
Taylor's sandalwood a/s

Nice stuff that P.160, even if I don't care for the scent. The pity of it is that if I used it again tomorrow, it'd bring me out in a rash for certain.

Saturday Evening:

Cold water shave as per usual
Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel cleanser with cotton pad.
Urban Hermit's All Agrog Bay Rum oil for pre-shave
Omega 49 Pro & Nanny's Citrus Zinger (with Nutmeg hint) soap
39c Slant with Feather High Stainless slotted in
Alum
Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel astringent
Urban Hermit's Bay Rum Baba Balm ASL

My first Feather shave! 3 passes, no oil pass. Not sure what the hype is about Feather's as I' probably get as close a shave with 7 O'clock Yellows and/or Super Iridiums, but a DFS shave none-the-less.

Nanny's soap is grand, as usual. I was hesitant at first thinking that the nutmeg might make it like, ... well like shaving with a nutmeggy dessert-ish thingie, but quite frankly, there was just enough to accent the citrussy freshness, and nowhere near enough to over-power it. Slip and buffer qualities were as good as Yushu, Lavender, & Exotic varieties of Sharon's craft - kudos!

Sunday

A shave at the gym, following another noon workout:

Italian pure bristle brush
R89 / Feather
MWF
Alum
ToBS St. James AS (not shown)
L'Erbolario Fern ASB

A very stressful weekend, following a Friday with plenty of frustration at work. Ops Mgt and some Mgt Accounting study for this evening.
The usual greedy suspect sadly managed to overtake Fenrnando in the last corner at the Monaco GP...

Saturday

Gillette Tech
Derby blade
Trumpers Limes cream
Commodore X1
RSC Balm

Another decent shave, but I'm getting frustrated that I can't easily get a really close shave. Although the results are acceptable I can do unlimited passes in various directions and I still get left with stubbly patches. Thinking of trying new prep, blades and possibly a razor to see what's weak in my current routine.

Sunday

Equipment: same as above, but also Calomine cream after the balm.

Mixed bag today, after my growing disappointment in my results, I went back to basics, watched some videos on youtube and read a lot of the starter threads on B&B. Did a more thorough prep with a hot flannel and pre-lather, and changed my grip to a 2-finger hold at the base of the handle. Then I did my usual 3 passes and still had quite a lot of stubble on my neck so I decided to hell with it and went for a thorough ATB pass just on that side of my face. Last time I tried this (with a WIlkinsons blade and TOBS cream) I ended up really raw and it took a long time to fade. This time I took preparation with a styptic pencil, plenty of balm and then a light application of aqueous calomine cream, just to see. Result was a bit of short lived discomfort, but absolutely zero irritation, no redness and a super-close shave on one side of my neck and my right cheek. I wouldn't like to try it every day, but it's good to know that if I really want to I can get BBS. Now I just need to try some different blades and after shaves to see if I can do it consistently without too much irritation.

Thanks Nic, video was good. Makes me realize how much more there is to learn about our "pursuit"! I don't have sound on my comp' at present, and I shall have to do something about it shortly, it's getting to be a darned nuisance - I miss out on so much! But I have just let it go for so long now, that it's about time I called in the Computer expert to get it all sorted!

spandex.. :)

Sunday

Musgo Real Glyce Lime Pre-Shave Soap
LEA Shaving Soap Stick
Semogue 1470 Brush in Oak handle
Dorko 15/16" Straight Razor
Musgo Real After Shave Splash
444 After Shave Balm
sdc11621m.jpg

Sunday

Razors: Special USA straight and finish up with EJ DE89 with a Bic blade.
Boots soap, Vulfix 2235 super badger.
Alum
Aquatonic AS

A 1st try of a straight, wasn't great angle was all over the shop but managed to shave both left and right cheeks, switched hands and one small nick. Finished up with the DE. The whole thing felt a lot more alien than my 1st DE shave, a steeper learning curve me thinks. I shall have another crack on Wednesday.
