My first attepts at DE shaving were with a plastice wilkinson sword from boots.

It lasted about 10 days before the arrival of my Merkur 38c, and then a Muhle r89, since then it has been redundant.

Yesterday I tried my old electric and it was proper `orrible. This was better, it at least shaved and didnt leave patches like the electric, although there are some bits I couldnt get they are at skin level and not really visable. On the plus side I do feel clean and presentable, and its good to know that my technique has improved quite a bit from those early days, or at least my skin has gotten used to shaving.

Roll on tomorrow, back with the R89 and a fresh Gillette yellow.

Good for you! Using cheaper products makes you appreciate the better quality ones.

Having said that, when it comes to creams the cheaper ones can be the best. Bought a tube of Palmolive classic a while ago and absolutely love it. It was also a nice feeling going into a bricks and mortar shop rather than the internet and buying it.

Yep, I used my Feather Popular yesterday evening and by lunch time it was noticeable how much more beard growth was presenting itself than there would be from a shave with either my EJ DE89 or Murkur Futur.

Hmmm...

After using the wilko Im a lot more spotty than usuall.

Sticking with the R89 from now on. Memory lane is a place best not visited, methinks!
