An EJ will be my next purchase. It will be a change from Merkur, but I will be keeping hold of my Futur.

I think part of my problem is that I have to sort of re-learn DE techniqe every couple of months when I get home from work. Must be muscle memory from using disposables (which are more convenient to use on the ship). And a straight switch from the light disposable to the mighty Futur requires an adjustment which can make for a rubbish first few shaves.

That's it exactly...I'd recommend the EJ too, best value/quality razor for under twenty quid.
