The Sandlewood scent is warm, musky and masculine! Very traditional as scents go. I sell Taylors of Old Bond street's Sandlewood at my Barber shop and it's easily the most popular shave cream.DPTC said:Haven't tried the red Proraso yet, partly cos I haven't got a clue what Sandalwood is meant to smell like, the green is superb, I'll be getting a tube of that quite soon and have sampled the blue one which is good too, but a bit of a weird smell. Suppose I could get used to it, as someone else said, all Proraso is good Proraso.

I bought the Proraso as a replacement and was very disappointed as it smells nothing like the TOBs

Well, I'm ever so slightly disappointed. Yes, it lathers up nicely, rich & creamy. But that scent - OMG, what is it?? It isn't exactly unpleasant, but it doesn't endear itself to me either. I've kinda solved it, in that I now splash a few drops of Old Spice into my shaving bowl with it to increase the pleasure. However, I really don't know what the fuss is all about. Tube packaging is nice though.
£ for £, I'd take my existing favourite £1.75 tube of Palmolive cream any day...
