Plagued by popups

Finding random popups appearing on the latest SOTD thread. Viewing in Android.

Anyone else finding problems today?

I had one too earlier, can't remember what thread it was....
But it had confetti and everything exploding on the screen and was stating I was a 1 million and 18th browser and I had won a prize....

On PC, even more on Android, the default browser It's a shame.
I've switched to Brave, a couple of years ago. (link)
And It works by default with DDG search, wich is better. (link)

Some Ad Blocker works too in depth.
If you can, setup the software to NOT stop the script of the site.

Here the default controls in Brave, as I use on TSR.
And It works like a charm. With my privacy preserved. (link)

The popup yesterday was a change in the ad code which I didn't know about. It has been removed so you won't get any more like that.

Ahh the irony of discussing ways to block and bypass the advertising on a site whilst on that site
The bottom line is that the advertising keeps the site running because it covers some of the costs. It still costs me money, I pay for you to use this site. Enjoy your ad-free browsing while the site is still here.

Actually it is becoming extremely annoying. Despite accepting ads (which I don't like) I still get the same popups. I am in a group buy at the moment ...once that finishes.....I will probably disappear. I will NOT be bullied into being a supporter and from what I have seen....that is no guarantee that trackers will not operate. I have tried to compromise but that does not seem to be enough. Please sort it out.

I use this app as my default web browser.

I've never seen an ad on this site. I originally downloaded it because YouTube ads were becoming downright annoying. It solved that issue too.

Bullying? Really?

There are no pop-up advertisements on this site. Every now and then google changes a code or a setting and they slip through. I deal with them quite quickly. It's your and everyone else's prerogative to not use the site or to block ads or to support or not. Nobody forces anybody to do anything. Enjoy taking advantage of the group buy. I hope you find a nice place to visit and talk about it if you decide not to come back here afterward.

Stupid question probably, but....

I get that the site costs money to run. Ads provide some revenue towards that.

Does a person, or people, using add blockers affect that? Are you paid by views per ad, clicks on an ad to their site or just to "host" the ads?

I genuinely don't know how it works or how our actions affect you.
